Ive always thought he's a windup merchant, as has been said, he never talks about window cleaning.

its beginning to get a touch boring now though, thus i thought i would ask

Maybe you should talk about window cleaning for once and stop trying to be a Boffin.

Come on Ewan lets hear about the time you dragged your hose through a custys dog-doo, the time it rained just after you scrimmed the first window on a house, the way the strange window cleaner in a beat-up old escort was giving you the evils, how a custy asked you if you were going to dry the water drops off the glass.

Lets hear you talk about 'hands on'.

I guess Im just thick then (smart with it, but thick, as you said  ;) ) and your a boffin.

And yes that is what is most interesting on here, dont you find? In case you hadnt noticed its a cleaning forum.

At least one good thing has come out of it, its making you begin to think  ;)

So what was the answer to the question "what's the mystery about sales? "because i find the posts of yours a mystery Ewan, i just don't understand them. One minute it looks as if you are trying to prise some figures out of us and then the next you say it's a form of bragging? I just don't understand what your getting at please explain to me. Or anyone who understands.
If i knew what you were talking about i wouldn't feel so frustrated - maybe it's just me?

If you are going to post on threads like this or similar, post something worthwhile.

Okay, oh look ftp doesnt 'get' you either!

Worthwhile enough?

I have to say ftp, I agree totally with you, he's full of contradictions. His posts are riddles, he doesn't know whether he's coming or going with his work and tries to baffle with bu115h1t.

in precis
"Where are you going"
out to clean some windows ;D
"What about the costs"
about 20% of turnover (although this will be different for everyone)
"Whats the mystery about sales?"
maybe people dont like to get asked how much they earn

fair enough ???

Well, that's how i read it Ewan, you said sales or earnings as some call it. Honestly i haven't a clue what you are talking about and you don't seem to be able to explain yourself - sorry.
Costs i understand, but i can't avoid them and i wouldn't post my figures for that either.

I do, why would anyone want to post their sales as you call it or more importantly their earnings on an open forum?

you wouldn't. and i wouldn't.
and nor would i
ewan
do you ask everyone you meet how much they earn ???
if you get introduced to someone in the pub do you spend the evening saying "how much you pulling down a year then?"
i may be old fashioned but  i just think its plain rude

last year i went to party, it was my mums best freinds 40 th wedding anniversary
we all went, my mum, bro and me ( with respective wifes and my daughter )
the father of my old best mate in school was at the bar ( he also knows them ) i havent seen his son ( or him ) for 20 years

the first thing he said " oh hi matt, whats your P.A this year "

eh ? ? ? ? ?

not, how are you, havent seen you in 20 years

he was interested in what a success i had become by judgeing me by my earnings  ::) ::) ::)

you know what matt? i remember that post and had it mind when i wrote mine
i know a bloke who i only see every couple of years
he is just the same ::)

Just for L.J.Thorpe, sales and earnings are to different things.

Two, Hmm, are you sure L.J.Thorpe.

ftp we all go out to work and say we have “earned” £so much, that’s just general conversation.

What it is really, is “Sales”

This is just basic stuff, it would be worth you while to understand the differences.

You don’t sound like a lost cause, unlike some! ;D

get a grip ewan you have just contradicted yourself again
and do you really not know the difference between to too and two ??? ??? ??? ???
