Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
This floor is in a new nightclub only been down less than a year- oak block finished with Lecol 2 part PU finish.By the time I was asked to look at it they'd used a citra clean product which had'nt done the finish any good and caused a residue problem.I gave it a good clean last friday and applied 2 coats of Bona freshen up to revive the finish. Although they now use microfibre mops and twin bucket system the hammer it gets over a weekend makes it a nightmare to clean. Its the sticky alchohol thats the problem.
Hence my experimenting. They mopped the floor after the weekend but when I went in today it was a mess.I will try a tan pad , but how much crud can these absorb. Might even try a microfibre cloth tucked round a pad to shine it up.
Dont really want to go down the wax polish maintainer route as it will hinder any top coat application without sanding back.
Thanks,
Mike
