I thought you had just got a vw caddy.
i have, its a lemon
it broke down on the way home ( the ignition barrel failed, thus the fuel pump solinod shut off, thus no fuel, the RAC sorted that out with a live feed from the battery ), not a issue, a ignition barrel is only 30 quid and i can fit it in a hour or 2
the van had a new clutch, its either not been fitted right or its not the correct clutch for the van, i can use it, but it grinds when going into 3rd and 5th

( not much, but enough to know its right happy )
then the first day i use it for work, i hear a banging noise, after a trip to my local VW/Audi guy, its the inner and outer driveshaft joints have gone on the drivers side

so to be honest the van isnt worth spending the 700 - 800 quid on the repairs ( which the guy said it would cost )
