Not what i was expecting
« on: September 04, 2008, 03:34:55 pm »
This is my second clean on this job 5 bed detached house in/out £45,first time it took me just over 2 hours a bit disappointed it took so long so this clean i got my skates on and got the inside done in about 45 mins so outside should only take me  under half an hour, anyway as i was about to go outside the lady of the house said to me "erm can i just say something about the price" ,
i thought o dear have i been too quick this clean and started to worry but to my total amazement she said "i don`t think you are charging me enough"
i was gobsmacked,
then she said "i want to pay you more how about i pay you £65 for the job"
i was still stunned but managed to say "err well yes i must admit i did slightly under price it" and she replied "well i am so satisfied with your work and new you didn`t charge me enough last time"
so when i finished she came out with a cheque for £70  :o  :o  result !  ;D

When custys get a good cleaner they dont want to end up losing you so maybe she thought one day she would be one of the ones you dropped so your obviously doing a top job.

I've never had someone say to me I'm not charging enough - let me give you more money.

I've never been to bed with an ugly bird but I've woken up with loads!

In 17 years of W/Cing, I've only ever had two like this.
Sadly neither are customers these days.  One died.  The other moved away.

I had one just last week, I had priced this big house with Georgian windows at £50, she said will you do the insides too for £100, I reluctantly agreed, of course the insides took me three times as long as the outside with WFP. I decided that there was no way I would do the insides again for that price, I was about to tell her this when she stuck a cheque in my hand for £130. It took me 6 hours in total.
I may be an old git, but I still have a lot to learn.

if only all my custys were like that , i would be a very rich, happy man  ;D
funnily enough i have had similar happen , even had custys putting up price , saying its been 1 year since last increase, makes up for all the poop we sometimes have to take, i think all window cleaners have jobs one their books , where for one reason or another [good price ,easy to do , good custy ect] that if we had a full book of these it would be very nice, oh well dream over ;D

Ive got 2-3 that pay extra every time, only a couple of quid, but they say it should go up etc, but they dont realise that 99.9 % wouldnt react like them!! Oh well, still we earn a good deal more than other cleaners!!
