1st day wfp :)
« on: September 02, 2008, 09:36:47 pm »
oh wot fun! got up late this morning to find the foot well of my van 6'' deep in water. my mate told me it would take 24 hrs to fill my 400ltr tank. muppet so after 2 hours of draining and cleaning off i went.

as many of you will know i'm HARD CORE trad w/c. or should i say was! halfed time taken on every job i done with the pole today. even though i didnt start till 13:00 i still hit my daily takings target by 17:00.

the jobs i wfp'ed look very good indeed. not as good as trad but good for 1st time wfp. the tank tds reading was 001.

thank you to every one who gave me advise to geti up and running. it took me a while but there in the end. my only regret was not spending more and getting a factory fitted 40'. 'live and learn rodney, live and learn'.

Fit a float valve, or if you are using a 4040 RO, use a Electric solenoid shutoff.

how will a float valve work? will it stop the flow at the outlet end but surely the tap pressure will contuninue to build untill..... pop goes the pipe and h20 all over my garage???

No it doesn't pop off.

Do you have a barb on the inlet of your RO? (Where the hose from your tap goes to) If you use a screw type jubilee clip on there, it doesn't pop off.

The float valve is accompanied by a shut off manifold (buy separately), which when the float valve closes, also closes the waste pipe, so no pure water or waste water is produced.

Well first Well done for getting into WFP  ;D .... As for being a HARD CORE trad w/c ,,, Trad is great and now that you have these new tools you can find out just what can be done with WFP... You will get bad days but thats what we are here for and it will take time to know where to use wfp and when to use trad.... Let us know how you get on and All the best  ;)

Likewise.  Took me a few weeks to start picking up speed.  Nearly gave it up to go back on ladders.  Had a few things go wrong as well though that caused me a load of stress.
