in certain areas yes... but you are so wrong to say websites in our business is the most powerful advertising tool....
look at the statistics... you obviously are looking into media statistics..
i have many ,many colleagues who have websites... and in much more lucrative businises than window cleaning....and the websites are very , very low on the scale of business gained....
the most obvious a, and most powerful tool is word of mouth.. then comes door knocking, then advertising in any press.... which is 95% more affective than someone.. by chance looking at your webpage!...... then comes van signs and leafletting....
the internet is a valid tool.... but not in our game ... not at all....
If i decided to put it plainly like this...
" oh i need a window cleaner... i know , i will look it up on the internet , see who is near me.."
the % of people who do that... in our trade is minimal....
the internet and a website.. for domestic cleans is an added extra, to look more professional.... and if you get an odd customer .. all the better.
im not naive... im reaistic..... the internet is still new..... and the old methods of advertising in our game, are by far the most affective...
and probably always will be.
