looks good but you need to sort some tags out, (title & meta mainly). search for SEO tips in google, this will help people find your site over the net. its no good if no body can find it. Not a dig, just advice.
Very good advice, but for £95 thats what you get, I have about 20000 templates I can sell for £90 each if anyone wants one saves my a load of time and makes more money if I am totally honest, it is something I am looking at as bespoke sites many just go for price even if it is not going to work others know they need to get it right  ;)  ::)

you can pay £10,0000 for van and have the same problems as someone who paid 3k

i reckon you can have a nice website... for a nominal fee and dont have to have all the fancy gadets... basic info of what you provide is adequate...

then try and make sure you get enough traffic.... but in all honesty... traffic in our business will be few and far between.... i think  a website will be a secondary thing people will glance at..... after seeing your name and number somewhere else... on .. leafket/  van  / advertisement elsewhere etc.

What you have put on the last part is so so wrong in so many ways for marketing.

I am not having a pop, but please dont tell others things thats are clearly wrong as it is not going to help them m8  ;)

no .. i am right bud.... people who want a window cleaner,,, will look in the yellow pages... thompson local.... read your advert in the local paper... or read your leaflet...

the last thing they will do in our business is look at a website ... and its the very last thing they will do..

probably after the window cleaner in question is already hired... and that may be if they are bored...
#

i mean ,, come on.... if i want a window cleaner .. i will be no more impressed if he has a website or not.... and i certainly would not be able to tell if he was more professional .. because he paid a grand .. as opposed to a ton.

Now an online shop is a different kettle of fish.... please dont say we are the same as them.... as its an added extra for window cleaners..

an assed extra that if we get somrthing from it.. its a bonus.!

its the internet... it was not here 20 years ago.... so i cant be that wrong.

also , if you are saying that my last part of my last message is wrong.... then why?

you need traffic to make any website work.

you, more than anyone should be promoting that.... m8.

you are so wrong! advertising media has moved on. i will not spend no real money on hard copy advertising anymore. the website is not a secondary resource, it is a powerful  advertising media when done right. You need to spend money to get it right if you don't know what you are doing. If you don't it will fail and it will more than likely not be working effectivley as it should be. you will not see the benefits, then right it off while others are coining it in on there. don't be so naive. Google is the most effective advertising medium there is now, simple as really!

Have to agree with Steve on this one, I have a very good site www.smart-cleaning.com and the amount of work I get as paid for it over and over again, think about it! a PC is in most homes and offices

in certain areas yes... but you are so wrong to say websites in our business is the most powerful advertising tool....

look at the statistics... you obviously are looking into media statistics..

i have many ,many colleagues who have websites... and in much more lucrative businises than window cleaning....and the websites are very , very low on the scale of business gained....

the most obvious a, and most powerful tool is word of mouth.. then comes door knocking, then advertising in any press.... which is 95% more affective than someone.. by chance looking at your webpage!...... then comes van signs and leafletting....

the internet is a valid tool.... but not in our game ... not  at all....

If i decided to put it plainly like this...

" oh i need a window cleaner... i know , i will look it up on the internet , see who is near me.."

the % of people who do that... in our trade is minimal....

the internet and a website.. for domestic cleans is an added extra, to look more professional.... and if you get an odd customer .. all the better.

im not naive... im reaistic..... the internet is still new..... and the old methods of advertising in our game, are by far the most affective...

and probably always will be.

If you think you can build a WC business on a website then you are either wrong or you`ve been sold to by a good salesman, unless your prepared to travel miles and i mean miles to service any if any customers gained and even then there be few and far between. The way certain people on here set it up it makes them money and mainly only them.

you simply haven't experienced a decent website, your view would change! i don't target domestics with my sites really but i get lots of enquires about it all the time! i have had some gem commercial contracts through my sites. that i never would of got if my site was never there.

I have tried allsorts of advertising. being proactive and canvassing will force you more work. of course it will but as an advertsing medium the internet is number 1. you just need to make it work, thats all! ;)

Of course i have experienced decent websites,, my brother does the whole thing for a living, sets them up all over the world, he is rarely in england,

i dont need him to tell me (although i value his advice as he does not try to make money out of me with a sales pitch)

but there are certain businesses who may make google a directory pointer to any given website, and feel the benefit of extra trade.... but it has to be an extra in window cleaning..... similar to a leaflet in your local post office...

nothing more.

well simon.. if you have to butt in... why not make it constructive.... if you understand that word.

trying to have a decent constructive debate over websites, if you have nothing better to say, then please go out and play or something. ;D
