is it just me.......
i seem to be getting thru eazi snap/schrader type fittings at an alarming rate
i use protecta ball(not overly impressed to be honest)
NEVER reel the tap in ,always walk it back and then reel in
i even made up a little cap attatched to tap which fits over the female fitting when not in use
but sooner or later they start to leak
the latest one lasted just 3 wks before it went
any way i have had enough and for the grand sum of 12quid i have swapped over to compressor fittings
dont know if they will be any better they are a lot heavier but feel very robust
anyone else had similar probs

yes me too, theyre expensive and dont last imo
I adapted my microbore to take a hoselock fitting, gardena make the best ones, been using the same one the past 10 months with no problems at all and I'm not even that careful with it.

they arejust standard airline fittings
i use brass barbs in pole hose from wcw
then a male comp fitting screws on that
the female screws onto a regular quarter inch tap

i got mine from a local agricultural engineers trade counter
i took one of the easi snaps in to see if they had anything like it
the bloke serving rigged me up with all the bits in a few minutes
cheaper than easi snaps too and no postage
and if they turn out to be crap its cost flip all

I said exactly the same about a month ago about the ezy snap connectors i busted one in a day.

They are nice before they get damaged but they are just not robust enough.

I may change back to pro fittings i never had any trouble with them apart from hard to get apart at times.

They only thing with the pro fittings is they don't fit my triggers which is why i changed to ezy snap in the first place

I find that once they start to stiffen up a quick spray of wd40 and spin the collar round a few times does the trick.

ive had the same ez snap on the end of hose for 1 year now, no leaks , i used to use one with a tap/ protecta ball but this used to leak after a while , it was to heavy/long for protecta ball to keep ez snap from knocking on ground whilst reeling in, i now use a trigger so do not need a tap , if you still want to use 1 it is prob. better to fit to pole hose, and have ex snap / protector ball on hose. i have also cut a finger of some old rubber gloves put a hole in and fitted via a cable tie to hose  ,so it forms a skirt over ez snap to protect and stop dirt getting in, it also mean i can reel in without it getting caught up.

i use compressor fittings its all ive ever used start to get stiff after 6 weeks or so but i just pull it back and oil them and there good as new again although sometimes when they get stiff there less likely to jump off dragging them along the ground , shouldnt be a problem for you if you use a ball

Since fitting a trigger to my pole-hose the ez-snap connector is permanently off the ground as it just snaps onto the connector on the trigger.

Same here, and if you use a protecta ball, you need one on the Mini/microbore AND on the pole hose, so you've got two, that takes care of it.

its all the dragging of the fittings around, esp when reeling in

you need a trolley mate
