Sony have a range that are well priced and are as good as tomtom.

You can buy new ones these days for £80-£90 pound. OK only UK/NIreland maps but thats fine if you dont go continental.

RAC one on Ideal World shopping channel for £89.99 plus try Aldi, Tesco etc, Ebay (lots of new ones)

You will get a warranty and the latest maps. Buy 2nd hand you wont get either.

Just got widescreen TomTom XL with Eu maps for £144 on eBay  :o

Will come in handy for drive to Algarve  ::) ;)

Its not just the price thats important (as usual with things)

Whats the speed of the processor
Is it 8 digit post code
Clarity of the screen
How easy to get through the menu

pay more and you get
bluetooth so your mobile is hands free
lots of points of interest
European maps
MP3 player/photo display
etc

got one from tescos medion £49 in sale uk mapping (just put europe on it ) works great with speed camera alert. all for £49
