I use a 17ft xtel with no probs at all, they dont last that long though.

Good pole to start out and even carry on using. not long enough for 3s houses, standard houses its fine.

Never used one as I though oval and a rectangle window was not a good mix so I got a rectangle vikan mono

I think it's a cracking pole for everyday domestic work.

It is light. The clamps are very good and the sections are short so ground floor can be done with it no probs.

It's also sold by everyman and his dog as far as suppliers go so it's cheap  :'(

It's brilliant.

It was a break through design because even though it is only 17' it has four sections which means that the closed length is shorter and therefore better than anything that went before. It also has thinner sections.

Take no notice of any negative comments (it does wear and break), it is the bext every day pole by far because it has the best design.

It seems so obvious and simple now, but the previous fg poles were like scaffold poles.

And talking about design, you missed this (sorry if I go on,and sorry to off topic )

What's available at the moment (pirtek?) is £500 plus, and there is no gurantee that this would actually work for our application.
Surely any really good company needs it's own products. To be a mere retailer leaves you open to being undercut. In our little world Alex has excelled himself with poles and you with the freedom trolley and van mounts.

What about the freedom reel though? Retailing above £300 towards £400 a reel with a 12v motor attached powered by a 12v leisure battery.
You might not think you'd sell many, but you would only need to sell one for any one else who saw it working to realise that they couldn't let another day pass without getting one.

As you know i`ve tried the electric reel thing,to be honest i don`t mind reeling in by hand. It`s only when you needing all the hose out all the time that it becomes tiresome, when you think for most of the time you only need half or just over of the 100mtrs.Like isay i could see the benefit but not for most WC`s.

I've been using it for months and it saves a great deal of work and effort. It's faster, and I'm able to earn more money while becoming less tired.

There are no issues with it other than it is a brilliant bit of kit that makes the job easier.

Most reels become difficult to use if you don`t maintain them, the spindle needs lubricating regularly.I can literally spin mine and it will reels in up to 5-mtrs with 1 spin.

Using a standard reel take the winding handle off and use a 22m deep socket and a driver with a two speed electic drill on the lower speed. This works fine. Since then I have changed the drive over to a dog leg clutch.
