Thats a little harsh £6.50 I would be on a winner and the best on the market would not sell, Dave has been using it a long time and seems to do ok in business so it cant be that bad, I have heard many stories about it though and only use Dowex myself.

Dave doing well in business & using it for a long time mean absolutley nothing ww!
I suggest you switch over to purolite & see how your business goes.

Don't know BUT yesterday i had to take all my pump box to bits, inside is a micro-mesh strainer. After 3 months use not one bead of resin was in it, a few bits of dirt but no resin at all. (dowex).

£1.00 of resin makes me £200 in takings ok i could get that down to maybe 80p per £200 if i listened to some, wow.

Doug what iam saying is that if i bought resin off you i couldnt claim the vat back which is about a tenner, if i bought Tulsion from purefreedom i could get it £79 delivered and claim back the tenner vat making it £69.00.


I spoke to a couple of suppliers today about Tulsion and they both admitted there wasnt much in it, it is marginal the extra you get out of it.

Dave if you read into the post he was making a valid point, asking a supplier which is best and getting the answer they are nearly the same makes you think go for the cheap which they make more profit on.

A good business man will always look for the right deal for them, saving a few pence could cost you alot more and be a silly business move, I understand this logic I have done it to my expense I learnt from it, I research and go from there.
And this is what I am guessing you are doing when posting about this topic.

On a serious note this is what i actually think.

Although i wouldn't recommend purolite to anyone, because of the way your system is set up you won't see that much benefit between brands anyway.

If i was turning over what you do, i too would choose simplicity over resin cost.

Too true, i can't understand why people seem so reluctant to pay for top quality poles. the piece of equipment that makes ALL the difference in this job.

I am going RO soon, just witing to clear my garage and garden,, to set up will cost me about £900, roughly a years resin.

Ongoing costs will be carbon and sediment changes = £200 a year

Bag of resin = £80 a year

Ro membrane £400 every 4 years,

Electricity costs ?
Waste water costs on water bill ?

Yes i probably would save money, but i have to work out if that saving is worth the added hassle and space taken up in the garden.

Sorry I'm confused, you can claim all the costs so the full £76 you can claim, it is all on one Invoice. I am not vat registered for business reasons. The £76 then gets deducted off your account, hope that makes sense.

Funny though, all suppliers are starting to get onto the band wagon in requesting Tuslion when they had never even heard of it until my good self entered it into the market. So it must be good, and all the marketing that I did has worked.

Unfortunately as in my past post you will find that resin will not be a stocked item with a lot of manufacturers now moving their sales accross to Europe. So the lead time for resin orders will move out to 8 - 12 weeks which may cause shortages in the market. Hence why we need all makes in our market as one product will not sustain the volume required.

All this competition is good as well for the window cleaning industry, looks as if it paid off with wcw bringing their prices down.

On a last note I have very few bags left so will probably run out of stock, but do have stock coming in the next few weeks.

Hope this makes sense and never order at the last minute as some suppliers will accept your order even though they do not have stock. Then you will have to wait a couple of weeks for your order so always ask if they have it in before you order.

you miss the point abot vat.

When i buy resin at £80 about £11.00 is vat which the tax man will give me straight back in my hand,

Then the other £69 can be offset against my end of year accounts.

so  a bag which is vat free but still costs £80.00 I get   relief on £80 so that = £24 saved in tax

As oppsed to a bag whish is £69.00 + vat , i get 30% relief on £69.00 = £20.70 saved in tax + £11.00 back in vat = £31.70.

So a bag of £80 resin without the vat included costs me an extra £7.70

Hope this makes sence to you.
