Oh and if you want to work even quicker Groundhog, get a Tucker brush and convert it like I did, 1 scrub with the Tucker is worth 2 on a Vikan, Im certain of it, Luke

I'm hoping that Alex's new brush is as good as the tucker Luke, that'll be great.

I'm just hoping that we will get a dual trim fairly quickly.

Yes, Im very very happy with it. I stuck it on the scales the other day and it was around 110g lighter than a Vikan. It really makes a difference, just that 100 odd grams! But I think that Gardiners new brush will be something like 240g, Luke

How much gram is the brush itself? Can't remember how much the Vikan is, sorry.

Just for reference

Vikan standard oval flocked 10" 1lb 1oz / 475g

Vikan hi-lo 10" 1lb 6oz/ 620g

Omnipole(Tucker copy) 30cm double trim which weighs 370gm  (just the brush, no jets etc.).  Note Omni now machine their Vikan brushes to reduce the weight even further.

yes, i dont think that the paper bag is 50g!!!!! I need new scales, Luke

Tucker Overview:

1. well its lighter than a Vikan

2. has alot more glass coverage, with splay it is probably 2-3 inches wider than the Vikan

3.superior cleaning on both glass and frames

The only downside to the Harris is its length when doing downstairs windows. Many new homes are built close together and a shorter pole is needed. We did a poll some time ago on this forum and most wanted a 3-4ft pole. I just stick a Zensorflex section on the top and remove it for bottom windows.

Its going to be really interesting when Peters alu short 4fter clampless pole comes out.

Do you think a shorter  section sections would be useful Groundhog ?

Jeff, the SL-X is 5ft 7 when closed. I thought this would be too big, how wrong I was, its perfect even for very very tight spaces.

Im not sure about 3-4ft sections as it means you have to do more extending of sections to get to the height you want and I find that I need to have the pole extended even for lower windows quite often. It also means more clamps ( on a none clampless pole ) Luke

Thanks for the Videos Grounhog, there great. I love people putting this type of thing up!! thanks. As regards the pole, well for a start you cant really compare it to an SL-X as the SL-X is a 25ft pole and the Harris is a 16ft pole. Even at 25ft the SL-X is stiffer, and quicker to close the clamps too.

Glad you liked the videos Luke! I am going to convert my harris pole into a 25ft pole soon and will post the results on here when I have done it. I think that too much is made of the stiffness issue, the harris pole is plenty stiff enough, and I don't believe that it would benefit me at all to have it any stiffer. As for the quickness of the clamps, I was not trying to use them quickly in the videos at all! I could have used them much quicker if I had wanted to, in fact if I was trying to clean the houses quickly I would not have even bothered using the clamps, I very often use the pole clampless, by just not tightening the clamps up.

Its all very well people posting on here saying that their pole is much better, anyone could say that, get a video camera and prove it!!!!!  ;)

Totally agree Dave, It is actually far stiffer than it appears to be on the video clips!!!

Dave there are two versions of the 17ft xtel, just recently they made it even stiffer. I replaced both my 17ft xtels with the latest ones, and they are quite a bit siffer, Luke
