jeff I don't find a problem with the length, 6' is about right for me. Any longer and it is more difficult to extend, any shorter and you need extra sections which can slow you down! If I am in a tight spot with the pole, I just stand side on to the widow and use the pole left to right rather than up and down, but thats quite rare on my round!!

You may have noticed, I am camera shy!!! I dont ever post my face online! All my pictures  and vidoes Ive put online never feature myself, I usually get my dad to hold the poles for them!!

I could film him using the SL-X but he has only used it twice and is no where near as fast as me with it!!! and he has never used the Tucker brush on it! Luke

I have got 7 extel poles, they all fell to bits, This morning i managed to salvage a 30 ft out of 3 old ones.

I really cant fault the Harris in any way at all, I think of all the RIP OFF poles in the past I have bought.

I will remeber all the suppliers who have ripped me off with excessive prices, (Research and development, my back side)

Remember the excell poles werent invented for window cleaners, I wonder why manufacturers veered away from painters poles.

My very first pole was a £280.00  18 ft Glass fibre pole Brodex pole £280.00 !!!!!!!!!!!

In fact I have now gone through over 10, 18 ft poles costimg me about £1500 altogether, thats withought the other £2000 + of bigger poles.

Advice to all new window cleaners have a serious look at the Harris.

I just bought one of those harris poles today just need to change the top over for a unger screw thread.

But this pole seems pretty good and seems nice and stiff compared to mu unger teleplus.

I wonder if they do any larger poles as i could do with a few of those poles in differant sizes.

I think I would go out and get one now if it wasnt for the closed length. Im 6ft 3 and a 6ft section pole is just too long IMO. Luke

But the whole reason I bought the SL-X was to just use 1 pole for ground to 3 floor stuff. If I cut it down it makes it near useless as even my smaller jobs require at least an 18ft reach. If I get another smaller pole it defeats the object, as I have to swap poles and clutter my van up more. Another reason why I picked the SL-X and SL2 is both fit length way intop my Expert, while some 6ft section poles have to go diagonal depending on the clamps etc.

they look alright!! ;D light enough and don't really look much longer than the ionics 18ft multipole, maybe a little long but still very useable and at £15 it can't be knocked at all really can it??

its because you clicked preview, when the "post reply" thing is opened again to modify the post, the http re appears. Do it again without the preview, Luke

Question for Grounhog

How do convert the top, do you saw the rivets the insert a brush insert ?

I drilled out the rivets and inserted a short length of unger number 1 pole and fixed this with a self tapping screw, although rivets would probably be neater, you then simply insert the brush adaptor from unger. Dai explains it much better thanme on my thread ' Dai, advice on b&q pole please'

Just film it using a mobile phone or small camera, look at my videos, you would not be able to reconize me from them!!

I drilled out the rivets and removed the end, I then added the unger adaptor and re-riveted it.
