you would never catch me up and down a ladder again, why would i ? ?? ?  the pole does a job that most are happy with

as ive said, i still trad downstairs ( though i am moving slowley over to WFP on certain houses, but thats just greed im afraid and i do allways wonder why, then i tell myself, well other do it, but im close to ditching that idea of WFP on them all

Well I'm getting fed up with going up the ladders, and my knees are knacking the whole time, and at the end of the week I can usually feel my knees, I've got weird pains, and tendons feeling like their going out of place every now and then.  And next month I'm only 24. I think I'll be happy with wfp.

it amazes me how many w/c on here dont or cant clean windows traditional

thats like driving an automatic but not being able to drive manual. one day the goverment will ban wfp then where will they be???

Things move on, and wfp is a huge improvement on trad, so why would anyone want to stay in the dark ages? Move with the times my friend!!!

just read the opening post with shock..

for the first time , i am going to put trad cleaning down...

i have just spent the last 2 days cleaning horrible dirty frames... never been touched....

around 50 or so houses...  wfp top... trad bottom.... and what a nightmare that was..

my mate had cleaned all the tops... front and sides...with  a water fed pole .... whilst i was cleaning the front window trad,, downstairs.... absolutley minging.......

5 small openers.. 5 large underneath... not to mention the filth above the glass.. not simply the frames either.....the plastic above also had to be done.

it simply took ages.... lots of dirty cloths... lots of hard elbow grease

but the worst part was having my mate take the pee out of me, as he had nearly done all the tops.......(same filth as the bottoms) whilst i was struggling with the dirt doing the trad way.... and i am pretty quick too...

so this morning , we went back , to carry on ... only this time ... pole top.. pole bottom....

what a joy!... what a relief!.... slish , splosh....all the dirt was gone in seconds...

i was behind him on every window...

and they were gleaming.. and we did it in  much much less than half the time....

the guys who trad on here are brilliant and hard working... god thats an understatement.....

but using a water fed pole is like winning the bloody lottery...

it does not compare at all  ...

 so , whilst i wll never post remarks to upset people,, i will in this instance say...
that the opening topic, of  a bucket and a cloth .. is ok for you, if you like that type of work... but  move on.. spend some money and help yourself .. really !...

it s the way forward... no matter what anyone says on here... the water fed pole system beats trad hands down....

trad masters.... please try it out... because you are missing out.

i hated the dirt , the 15 dirty cloths.. and the pointer ladder... hated it.

Does it really matter? Trad is best, theres no doubt about that IF its done properly. I still prefer it. But I use WFP because its quicker and easier.

Most of the customers are fine with it. About 10% don't take to it but they get dropped. Plenty more fish in the sea.

I run a business, the purpose of that business is to make money for me and my family.

Friday afternoons I pay all the money into the bank. its the figure at the bottom of the paying in slip that is important, Nothing else.

IMO WFP is liberating.

Its the best move Ive ever made in this game and just wish Id done it all before. Oh how I used to scorn the thought of it.

I agree with you.

I do both. I am taking on more and more WFP work (despite several frustrating experiences) because it is easier and pays more.

However, I still (have to) do some ‘trad’ work and, although it takes longer, I find it to be very satisfying to be able to see, immediately, the results of a job well done.

Why oh why is there this wfp verses trad bit all the time.

I am a commercial window cleaner and I use both. Different jobs require different applications. We clean a chip restaurant, wfp wont shift the grease so we use trad inside and out. most of our shops require soap to remove grease, from fingermarks on doors and hand prints on glass so if your soaping it you may as well use a squeegee!!! I also have several cleans at 40 - 60ft, wfp comes into is own there for sure.

If your a good window cleaner you use both because you have to (except just external domestic cleaners), if your stuck in the past you do trad only, but in the modern window cleaning world there is a place for both.

dont argue about it - have both and move on

thats a a very good point and should be noted, thing that makes me laugh is the people that dont have trad skills, they will be losing money hand over fist.
