The good quality ones have smaller bearings on the inside i`m sure of it,i`ll bet the one your having trouble with is the one with the larger bearings, the bearings over a little time also stay retracted and this causes the water to keep coming out the end of the hose even when you`ve unplugged.

same as me and opposite of most people ;Di bet the female needs replacing
i prefer females on pole hose but they seem to wear quicker that way
look on wcw website ,they do females with a brass tail and the female is detatchable so can be cleaned to extend life and easier to replace, buy tail and female first then in future you just buy new females and repllace them

That`s what i meant when i said undo the bolt, you can just undo the bolt on those types and replace the female part.

I have just replaced the female about 2 weeks ago, first day was fine, about a week fine, this week been dripping a little now my trousers are totally soaked including my shoe today.

I carry on anyway, but I want to sort this out as I know it is not right and not good for prolonged use

ian the key phrase in this post is "good quality" nwh is right that tey vary a lot ,i have had some that went breasts up inside a 3 weeks and others that are still fine after several months just buy one and try it ,if nothing else it will eliminate another possible cause of the problem :)

best to stick with the genuine German made items. I have come across several window cleaners who have bought cheaper copies and have had serious reliability problems.

On a personal note I find it far better to have the male end on the pole hose, they seem to last forever (slight exaggeration!)

We do not keep the male screw into tap fittings in stock.  :(

We can order them in for you if you want, they are about £2 each. The female fittings with 6mm hose barb are on our website:
