if I had a digital camera then I'd post some pics of our vans - someone might recognise them too!!

LOL thorpe cant wait for me to reply i see.  I have other things to do besides sit and constantly watch a forum.  But I do understand that it gets boring here without me to liven it up though.  After all, without me here a casual observer would think that cobble togethers are the norm, and we cant have that now can we.

Yes my system is fitted, not a diy job.  Someone I know used to fit them, he is a mechanical engineer by trade who has his own engineering company.  Very professional job, which I did not mind paying for.  He no longer fits systems, too smalltime.

However, I am after a new system very soon.  Have to admit, all this talk of hot water has got me wanting that.  I dont like the idea of the gas bottle though, but I suppose its the same as what caravaners do.  Ho hum.

Matt, glad to see you back.  How's life old mucker?

im not being picky here, BUT you had your tank fitted by a engineering guy, this is just the same as some1 going to a metal fabricator / engineering place and having them make a frame to fit around the tank and bolt to the van OR the same place fitting brackets to the van chasis to fit ratchet straps to

you then fit the van out with your pump etc etc

isnt that just a little DIY-ish

Sure, but you know me better than that.

PLUS you built up the anticipation so much, I felt I had to provide detail

No it isnt.  I didnt "have a tank fitted by an engineering guy"

I had a system constructed by an engineering firm, that happened to be owned by an "engineering guy" who I know.

Ratchet straps LOL now THAT is diy.

I struggle to understand why people are mocked for using their own initiative or skill, my system was fitted but I could have DIY'd it. Yes sometimes a DIY system doesnt look as nice and some people bodge it, but there are those that do it well, Luke

LOL matt, no way could my system ever be even close to being considered to be diy.

He isnt a system designer he is an engineer who designed this system for me.

Most of the work they did was in the design and construction of the frame.  In hindsight it actually cost about the same as a top brand system, so next time I'll just buy one off the shelf rather than get it bespoke.

Plus, hot water.... mmm
