Hi Guys
             I'am thinking of getting a TROLLEY SYSTEM for domestic work, there are a lot of houses I would not get near with a van.Could anybody with experiance of working with a trolley please let me know the pros and cons

i have done for over 4 years now, i have a very compact round that i park the van up once and dont move all day, i feel a trolley suits be great, ive toyed with a van mount and i still cannot see how it would improve my life

I need my trolly as I do a lot of my round on the side of a mountain and can't get near some of the properties with the van. The pro's are it's very adaptable to each job although I've got 20 metres of minibore attached to mine so I've a bit more freedom. the cons are replacing the containers, although this is easier once you get used to using the trolly on your round, ie, strategically placing containers at pre-set locations on the round.

been using my trolley for about 12 months now, i think its great,sure you have to change barrels every 2 or 3 houses but when youve done it a few times you learn where to place barrels before you start.also get a trigger for your pole,it saves a hell of a lot of water.

Rednick, is that a trolleybox from wintecs with the 40psi pump and 28ah battery?
I have just ordered one and wondered how you found it?

box is from wintecs, i think it works great,one charge lasts me about 2 days and ive adapted my trolley so box just pushes in bottom of trolley with water barrel on top.

pump box from wintecs-£120,trolley from b&q-£13,shelf welded on trolley by a mate-£5,hose and connectors from b&q-£15,since picture was taken i have fixed a hose reel on back with 20m of hose-£25.

      Dont have a van system mate. but i bought a domestic one to try.
       needs access to an outside tap, takes ages to set up.

get a freedom trolly if you decide you want to have a tank later link it to the trolly and leave it in the van that way you will always have the choice of either i sometimes link 2 barrels in the back of the van getting 50 ltrs of water to work with

As most people have said it is a pain using containers and if you can avoid it do so. If you get the trolley and have room for a water tank, buy a battery and a 12v submersible pump so you can top up. You will only need 1 barrel then.
A reel of hose and you have a van mount which is powered by the trolley.
1 tip that will make any trolley users life easier is when you buy a pole, make sure you ask for an extra 10 - 15 metres of pole hose instead of the normal length hose that comes with it. You will then be able to position the trolley in 1 or 2 places and work away from it to finish most houses. It will wrap easily around the trolley handle when not in use. Without extra pole hose you will need to re-position the trolley evry couple of windows or so.
The freedom trolley is a good one although scrim shady sells similar which looks good too.

Excellent idea. You are armed for almost anything then. I have van mounts each with a Freedom trolley as well in the van. We use the trollies on their own around 50% of the time.

all depends on what you want to pay and which is best suited for your work

I don't really think it is worth getting anything for the sake of 15 metres or a few seconds walk when using the trolley on its own. But when i use the trolley as a van mount and microbore i do waste more water unnecessarily. I'm going to get one of those pneumatic triggers that will go on the end of the pole. I'm not sure of the name.

I used to be a Fireman (25 years) and used to service a lot of aircraft fire extinguishers I found an old 10kg co2 extension pole with an on off valve and have adapted that. I changed the two o rings and it works a treat. I think you waste a lot of precious water if you don't have a means of control at the pole.

With a trolley you're never far away to turn off quickly but my van mount (when the trolley is not plugged into tank) has no varistream and i would like to try a shut off trigger that is attached to the pole and see how that is.
The other flow control valves i used got broken because i didn't have a holster for it and it used to drag acroos the ground.
I see varitech sells these but i can't see a price in their catalogue. There are several people on here who uses the trigger and have posted pictures.
