Part of the problem round here is the house prices keep out younger families who can't afford to buy. You have to have a combined income of over £100K a year to buy a basic three bed semi.
Every time a house changes hands I don't get the new customers. There are a number of reasons, a lot of houses are being bought by Asians who tend not to want their windows cleaned, at least not by me.
I have some Asian customers but nowhere near a representative percentage of the local population. They also tend to be difficult customers, young professionals, never in, and the relationship is different in a lot of cases. Saying that, some of my best customers are Asian.
A lot of houses have been bought as "Buy to Lets" and the tenants don't give a toss about the windows. A lot of the tenants don't give a toss about anything to be honest. The shortage of Council houses and close proximity to heathrow means you get a lot of posh houses being rented by council/ social services/ housing associations to house assylum seekers and problem families.
