Jamie, really pleased it went ok as I am sure you were holding your breath.  Thing is now is to do it again and again till you have tried to double your prices.  Along the way you will probably plateau at some point as you will then find price resistance.  When you get to this point is when you have to sell to the client why it is that they should use you.

Other than that go find carpet like the purple one to go and clean.  Then you can start at a pound a foot and go from there.

You still have room to put on another 10 or 15p a foot after your already 5p a foot increase before you have to sell yourself as you are right, you are too cheep.  Especaily when you are using one of the best truck mounts around.

You can give me a ring anytime if you need any more help.

If I am up that way to clean you can tag along if you like to see how I do things if it is any help.

Mike, give me a ring too and I will go through the stuff I have in my kit.  Easier than writing a list  on here and we can go through the waxing problem.

My number is 07947 620 495

Best, Dave.

Thanks for a great day Paul and to Lorraine for the Coffee and food.
The leather training will without doubt be of great benefit  to me in the future and has been a substantial confidence booster for me  to get out and do it.

Mick and Tony and anyone else.  Hope this helps.  Just bear in mind that you are trying to recreate how the textile was made in the first place.  So whatever you need to do so is fine.  I just use all sorts of needles , punches even screwdrivers like I showed you.  Really, just make it up as you go along.  If you cant get the tuft or weave or knot just right then keep doing it till it is right or ifnot cheet.  Anway, if you can do the purple carpet and the other small samples you will be fine doing anything else on site.   Having said that, if you get them be careful with the textiles with 3, 4, 5, or 6000 knots per square inch.  They can be a bit tricky.  I didnt have one with me to show you but on these I have used acupunture needles before.  Hey, whatever works, right?

Best, Dave.

Rob I think you have got the wrong end of the stick mate.

Simplicity is exactly what Dave is going on about. The kit he has put pics of costs very little to put together.

There have been lots of occasions were I have come across a burn, bleach mark which can be re tufted/rewoven, and as you say can take minutes to do and can add £30 or £40 to your price ticket.

Thats the very same reason I did the leather days, just to show how easy and quick it is and not be scarred to try. Simplicity that is my system ;)
