ive just got a 0845 number .you pay a one of fee of 14.99 and thats it.its a local rate number. to ring its about 1p a min
Are you sure about that 1p a minute cost to phone an 0845 number?
Many of them are up to 5p a minute (mine is 3.5ppm for the one phoning in and I pay 2p a minute to receive it).
It does vary a fair bit. If you pay a monthly rental, the ppm cost is usually lower. If you don't, the ppm cost is higher.
They are not local rate calls either. They are "lo-call" rate calls. Sounds the same when you speak it but different in practice.
I could have got mine free of charge but wanted a memorable one. They usually cost more. I paid £200 for mine. I know there are better deals around than mine but it's no great cost to me. After laying out the initial £200, it only costs me under £1 a month to run. Anyone phoning in pays 3.5p per minute.
