Funnily enough we had just noticed that! Took them long enough to 'design' it. We have had ours around for over 2 years now.

60% lighter, it needed to be! Is it as light as our one at 120g? I looked on the website and couldn't find an actual weight for it.

It sure did, I have one of their originals on my Pro-long, without it it would be a brilliant pole. But it is testament to the pro-long because even though its very heavy it doesnt flex with it, Luke

Their original Trident could have supported a sky-scraper they were very tough.

I doubt very much it is as light as your ones. The trident weighed around 600g and then with a heavy Vikan brush. Does the Brodex gooseneck have a Vikan style thread on each end now? ( "fully compatible with all 23mm top section poles on the marketplace from any manufacturer" ) Alex will the new brushes and sl-x be out within 2007? Luke

To be fair Brodex re-designed their original Trident and made it lighter a long time ago.

Well I have their latest Trident before the one pictured above and it very very heavy. It came in its own box that weighed a tonne!!! I cant fault the pro-long though, its a superb pole and extremely stiff!! And even with the heavy gooseneck its still a really good pole. But I think Brodex should do the following to improve their pro-longs:

1. Even lighter gooseneck
2. Plastic End caps, no heavy metal fittings on the thread end
3. lighter hose
4. lighter brushes
5. Shorter section lengths

I think then they would have one of the best pole around. My 25ft pro long weighs over 3kg with the trident, but I reckon by changing brushes, hose and loosing their heavy fittings then it would weigh 2.6-7kg. And it would be super stiff, Luke

Oh thats good, so the 30ft sl-x what height will it be closed with clamps and angle adapter and brush? Luke

The 30ft reach SL-X will be approximately 5' 8" complete with neck and brush when retracted and will weigh 1400g.

My vans in the garage at the moment so I can t go out and look at my 17ft xtels, but it sounds like a similar length to a 17ft xtel closed with angle and brush, am I right? Oh and what sort of money are we looking at? Luke

It will probably be a couple of inches longer than a closed 17ft X-Tel.

Price wise we will be aiming for a price somewhere between a 27ft Hybrid and a 24ft Facelift.

Yes Luke, you will have to do a lot of saving.  They will be very competitively priced but not cheap.  They are using some of the most advanced carbon fibre weave available in the world and as a result are able to offer increased levels of stiffness with lightness second only to a Super-Lite.  None of this comes cheap unfortunately but we feel that the increased product performance and longevity will make it an investment that will actually save money in the long run.
