Carbon-Fibre is many times stronger than Glass-Fibre. The reason that Glass-Fibre appears more shatter-proof in pole usage is that to get a level of rigidity along the pole length that is acceptable,  the wall thickness has to be relatively thick which gives good lateral 'knock' resistance. To get the same level (or a lot more) rigidity along the pole length in Carbon-Fibre you actually do not need much thickness of wall material. This is very good for weight saving, but does not provide the same 'knock-resistance'. This can be overcome though with clever use of Carbon-Fibre weaves (not all weaves are the same!).

The all new SL-X is a pure Carbon-Fibre pole which has been engineered for ultimate lightness (barring the Super-Lite), rigidity and longevity. This will be a pole that you can pass-on to your grand-children!!

My aim is to keep my working life as simple and easy as possible, which means that I only want 2 poles in my vehicle, the new SL-X and a Super-Lite.

Ultimaely thats what I want, just 3 poles in my van, that can cover up to 60ft and down to ground floor for 2 operators, Luke

You'll not be dissapionted Alex, at this very moment in time IMO is the best for purpose (30ft & under) pole on the market. ;) How long this status will last though i don't know.
