Come on Dave, you couldn`t see any difference at 35ft.

Nope very similar, i laid them side by side and picked them up to compare, i thought the S2 was a little heavier but then the sections are a little longer. Having said that i couldn't compare them in use because the top section was gone on the S1. I never had any breakages with the S1 whilst cleaning with it - i was just too clumsy with it everywhere else. The S2 has a more user friendly tip meaning i can use a preferred adjustable angle adapter.
Obviously Alex was well aware of the downfalls of the Maver fishing pole to want to design the S2.

Shrink wrapping all the sections on the Maver would increase the strength 10 fold, and by tapeing the tips would solve nearly all problems with this pole being flimsy.

The top of the pole is more rigid when using the gooseneck with the carbon insert,i feel the screw on gooseneck contributes to the flex.

The normal plastic screw on ones that Gardiners do and many other suppliers. Join two together if you want extra reach or purchase a gooseneck. I don't like goosenecks because you are stuck with the same angle at all lengths from six feet to sixty feet.

I had to super glue mine on to the S1 stop it spinning when i wanted to work with it at odd angles. I think i might be using my poles for slightly different applications than you are NWH.

To stop the gooseneck spinning you use the pole hose to do this,i wrap the pole hose tighter around the top section and this stops the spinning effect.

hy there Luke :)
Elizabeth here from emporium poles Alan mentioned you were making enquiries on our pole today :), just clarifying some details for you.  Emporium poles is not a fishing business Alan has had 20 years experience in carbon poles and has close links with the industry i myself have links to the industrial cleaning business.  The ultra-lite has been designed by engineers from an international company who have been in the business for 50 years.  We designed the pole based on information from independent window cleaners to industrial cleaning companies both in the uk and abroad.  We manufactured our own pole because of the increasing amount of enquiries from window cleaners paying high prices and being badly let down by the back up service on their own carbon fibre poles.  Simply we feel we have a high quality product at an affordable price backed up with a first class service.  We have a range of telescopic poles being launched very shortly.

Dave,
Maybe a spinning goose neck could be solved with a wrap of pvc tape wrapped on the pole so that the neck /seats onto the pole. Or are you talking about the screw thread comming loose ?
Everything loose should be able to be dismantled, maybe glue wasnt the only answer ?

At the end of the day Dave it`s peoples opinions mate and don`t get me wrong it`s better made pole than the maver no question there, but no matter what anyone says there is more flex with it.In daily use i do find my original pole better to work with but that`s just my opinion.

My other, most used pole is a diy cheap as chips telescopic tapered 20ft flag pole. BUT what I would like is a telescopic light 25ft carbon composite for say £99

Yeah thats fine NWH can't agree more - if we all had the same opinions then we would all be using exactly the same kit and things would become very boring.
Jeff, in hindsight it wasn't a clever idea to bond my gooseneck because it had a carbon shim inside it and so when i wrecked the top section i rendered the gooseneck useless for future work too.
If you are precise and gentle with your poles then a fishing pole for hight is ideal - you could pick up the Maver Resolution a short time ago for £270 from angling suppliers.

Try an F16 in a fishing shop, take it with you and ask.
