in all fairness ronnie it was my father who started the business and although i have put alot of work in he has helped me avoid many mistakes i might have made if starting on my own . But we where definately a bit slow going wfp so missed some good opportunites in fact when we first saw wfp about ten years ago we bought one and sent it back a week later thinking it wouldnt catch on as we where getting loads of complaints.

then 10 years later started on my own and went straight into WFP residentially and alough it gave me frustrating times i think it comes good with confidence.

its been two years now and things are going well but  iwould like to get more commercail work and take that step of employin my first person but it seems quite difficult! i feel as though the only way to get some one reliable is to get some one full time(tried part time but useles) but how do you get to the point were you have enough work for two??(as one person cant do it) if you know wot i mean??

 a good way is at first try and find another window cleaner who maybe wants an extra day a week it has got to be one you can trust when your again full to capacity take someone on part time it is a slow process and you will find it very frustrating sometimes as employees do let you down a lot untill you find the right ones but if you pay well and lead by example you can make it work.

ronnie, this is one of the resons I work a 4 to 6 week round, every customer is told from the start cleaning will be done within this time frame, when you work 6 weeks flat out you take someone on and drop back to 4 weeks or 3 and pick up more work. This is the way I did it at first then i bought other rounds etc, now back to 2 people working but with the same money as three

Ronnie, I run a professional company to m8, and reliable to (I did nt take it the wrong way) I just run it 4/6 weeks so I can gain more business and not let anyone down due to weather etc etc, main reason is to build business and still be reliable.


as to other post parted friends yes (and learnt that freinds and business is a no no, did they start up on their own yes (I found that out while they worked for me) I classed it as stealing from my family.
I see him yesterday and tried quote a new customer walking up to my van, I was washing van at the time with wfp so he got soaked head to toe and i got the job  .

When I have a bad back I send a guy out to do the work, normally only lasts a day or 2 (I am on painkillers for it so most of the time I just work through the pain till the weekend) some days it will get very bad and I take the day off, bonus of having staff

Good one WW i re-looked at your website and it has improved an awfull lot, I think you are a natural entrepreneur.

WFP seems to have re-ignited your enthusiasm and passion. Glad you gave him a good soaking, I'm sure you'll be mates again in a year or so.
