Twelve thousand five hundred and nineteen forum members, 100 signed the petition to protect their livelihoods!

I just can't for the life of me understand why so few have signed the petition? Ok we could cut the fiigure down some what, due to the fact, it affects us w/c and not cleaners on the other section, even if we cut the figure down by half, that would still leave 6,250 members, lets cut that in half again, and say the other half are Trad? That still leaves us with 3,125 ish. and we have 100 signatures.

If I was the prime minister I would  ban w/cleaning as a priority with such a poor response.

With a response like that he will probably ban it even when water isn't in short supply.

I've now joined the elite band of the 100 best men in the country who have signed the petition.

Proud as I am to be in such company our so called industry leaders could be doing more to promote this petition. Apart from their  thinking of it in the first place they should be making every effort to get as many people to sign it as possible by all means.
They should also have in place a strategy for sustainability that will go some way to addressing the governments/defra's concerns on this, and as a first step arrange a liason meeting with DEFRA and others such as craig-fed. Any such meeting will need an agenda and it is this area that needs addressing. I am disgusted by the lack of ideas and believe they are out of their depth. If I had more time I would enjoy nothing more than to give them a good kicking. They had a chance at the consultation stage to affect this and failed miserably.
If you're gonna lead, lead, don't just talk about it.

Please dont take this the wrong way but you are incorrect to say that industry leaders are out of there depth with this. I have spoken to Craig,FWC, and many others including Defra and i can asure you they all know where they are going with this but do not really want to put it on a public forum for a very good reason. The petition is at first thought a good idea but it could well back fire !  When i done the drought order work i telephoned about 40 local firms to me asking them to at least send in an objection. Only a few could be bothered but its probably the other ones that want the support from trade associations but cant be bothered to join!! If associations got proper support they could do far far more!!

Good. Mollified slightly. It's important that we show we are a responsible industry. My approach would be to ask for their help, or as much help as they can give us to make the industry sustainable. This might mean products/means to recycle harvest rain water, grants/taxbreaks for investment in same, education and training in best practice and certification.

I understand about a public forum and confidentiality and tactics. My tactics would be to offence with pr, get some/all MP's on side. This can be done by our willingness to cooperate fully and take on board ways to save or not to use mains water. The other point is that our working pays taxes and it is very harsh to make this the subject of a water board whim.

My own persnal feeling is he wont care anyway, this is a sothern problem
so when he sees the pitition he will laugh & bin it.
