Is this a thread to have a pop at the NCCA?   Not being a member, I can't really comment.

What's the alternative - IICRC or Proclean?  Or are these not active anymore?

Perhaps some of the above posters should form a new association with a bit more 'pizzaz' to it!!!!  No doubt directors in the 20/30 age group and preferably female with.......

No not a pop at NCCA as there is no need to ever do that to an organisation that in my eyes is very good to our industy.
I started the thread as I was wondering what was happening with them going forward. At the begining of the year there was a lot of talk about changes and driving it forward,I know Derek had left rcently and thing just seemed quiet with them recently.
Just interested to see in what direction there taking.

There have been attemts to form new organizations.

I did join one that was on Ebay and so did one or two others from the various boards but that died.

There is an organization called SCCF or somthing that Chris Browne, Art, and Andy A  have started  which has lasted.

The Window Cleaners were successful in starting a rival to the established organization andone of  the Moderators of the Window Cleaning Section appears to hold high office.

I believe The IICRC conference  was also canceled

I do wonder how many people actually attend advertised courses as often I try to book one and get told its been canceled.

Last year I went to an open day of a company on the First Day and there was only a few people there, and none of the billed events were taking place, and allI had to look at was a truckmount.  I was told I should have come on second day.

The CCDO was a huge success as have previous ones, where they get it wrong is in the content 'whats on show' or to be discussed. It has to be of interest somewhere on the day to someone and it has to be fun.

This proves that there is a need and a want for events such as these and its a great way to network with other CC's. I advertised the event on the boards only and the response was great so much so that I had to limit the numbers.

I doubt after putting yourself to turn up at the event you describe above if you will ever attend another put on by the same organisation.

I could go for ever about the IICRC  ::) but in short compare it to a customer you have that you never contact (ever) and then ring up and ask for more business from her/him what sort of reply can you expect and in all probability get.

If the NCCA could incorporate an event in to a CCDO open to all then I think they would crack it in my opinion.  ;)

You are so right in your overview of these events.

Speaking only of the NCCA events, we have found that the Technical Roadshows have been a bit better than OK as far as response is concerned. The Factory Tours and Workshops have had superb responses.

The AGM is a bit of a different animal. We need to plan roughly half a day for the AGM, that leaves half a day for the attractions and networking. This is very limiting.

A few years ago, the AGM was held at Carpex. The show attracted more members and others than we could have coped with, but being an all day event, the AGM attendance was appauling :(  So as you can all see, an AGM is a very difficult event to organise and balance well.

Me and Pawlo (NCCA's CEO) had a recent brainstorming session and Pawlo came up with what I think is a great idea for a themed event to accompany the AGM. We'll thrash it out at the next Board Meeting and let you know afterwards what's happening.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

I would just like to clarify it was not a trade organization.

But i try not to name companies on Forums as others may take a diffrent view and my view might not be fair on the people concerned.
