What about the c0ck who just rang my phone and quacked down it, while his little friend giggled in the background? Roll Eyes

If you had a smart professional logo that wouldn't have happened!

Just kidding Rog  ;)

Andy

if it did has to be from here do some detective work and post it back on here so I can say thank you for making me laugh.

It has to be someone you speak to so I really hope you dont take offence to it in anyway as you will make me feel well bad for posting this :-\

Clearly one of the newbies mate. ;D

The real pros on here wouldn't be so childish.
I'm not bothered, it was kind of funny, if I hadn't been having a shave at the time and covered my phone in foam.

07 plate van...jobs cleaned in 5 minutes used to take 20.... new fangled pole....they  just want clean windows WITHOUT YOU MAKING TOO MUCH MONEY OUT OF THEM.

Your old customers have noticed  the difference in the way you work and they dont like it. It was ok before, you were up and down that ladder using that squeegy like the pro you are. Now paying £10 for 20 minutes of hard graft, well you deserve it , nice hard working lad putting food on the table for his kids. Give you a few bob extra at christmas, buy your kids something, we know what its like we went through the war etc etc. weve struggled.

Now the pole has changed that, and the new van has reinforced their suspicons that you're doing alot better than they thought. Your new customers dont know any different, youve always had a new van and always taken 5 minutes to earn £10.

Thats why, in my opinion, youve lost so many customers.

And before I get the newbie card thrown at me. People are still people no matter what profession you happen to be in. You dont need to be a window cleaner for 60 years to understand how people think. Oh and while im on the subject of the newbie issue, different people with different skills bring different points of view to issues discussed on here.

Wether you choose to take any notice of advice based on their membership status is entirely upto the reader..

Couldn't agree more Mark. ;)

That's exactly what's caused the problem in my opinion.

This is some of the reason i got an older van and got a new car the customer doesnt see the car so cant make comments
A few years ago a customer was talking about the vehicle another local window cleaner had(a brand new 4x4)and said how can he afford that hes only a window cleaner must be charging too much
although that could also have something to do with the low regard window cleaners are seen in

at the end of the day your not going to convince someone to use your services if they dont want a window cleaner, the only people i know that have window cleaners, are the ones that want clean windows, i know that sounds off buts its true, all people want to see, if they are after a cleaner is "window cleaner" and your number, i don't believe it extends to more than that, all a logo and fancy wording and lettering will do will make it stand out in a crowd, and how often are you in a crowd?

Maybe they do maybe they dont. The comment was made in relation to squeeky's particular situation. If you want to clean windows in a bentley with a roof rack then carry on. Everyones situation differs, your customers dont mind, squeekys old ones, in my opinion, do.

That isnt so far off the mark so far as Im aware.

Theres a window cleaner round where I live, he has a 5 series BMW, with a roof rack on it and does his round in that. I personally think its madness, I thought it would do damage to his round at least, customers opinions an' all that stuff.
He's still working, I dont know if it did lose him custys. In my eyes a BMW doesnt look good, even if there are cleaners with more expensive vans and setups. To me its craziness.

Appparently his roof-rack cost more than my car  :o  :o

He was investigated by the tax-man after acquiring it though!
