Hi Alex

IYO If I can handle a 64ft ergolite will I be able to handle the superlite 52ft with two extra sections fitted and multipole brush?

If you can handle a 64ft Ergolite you can handle the same height Super-Lite 2. The best thing to do is to lay out your Ergolite and measure it's actual length. Having done this you can work out what length of Super-Lite you would need. Post again when you have measured your Ergolite.

Hi Alex

Cheers for the quick reply.

It is a standard Ionic "60ft" Ergolite. 8x8ft plus the gooseneck. I will try and measure the exact length of it if necessary. I am guessing 64ft?

Hi Steve you asked earlier about the handling of the modulars, they are unexplainably light. Typed words  do not do them justice, they are affected by high winds but you get used to it as you do with any pole. One way  to explain about the weight is for you to seperate you ergo and reassemble with just the first three sections, then immagine that it reaches 60ft  :)
here are my own weights for the ergo from my comparisons of other poles from Pros.

Ergo lite Carbon fibre  X 8ft approx weight. Pole only

1 sect     1 lb                      .455 kg
2 sect     1 lb 2 oz       2 lb 2 oz                 .964 kg
3 sect     1 lb 5 oz       3 lb 7 oz                   1.56 kg     24ft
4 sect     1 lb 8 oz       4lb 15 oz                2.34 kg
5 sect     1 lb 11 oz     6 lb 10 oz                3kg
6 sect     1 lb 14 oz     8 lb 8 oz                3.86 kg
7 sect     2 lb      10 lb 8 oz                      4.72 kg
8 sect     2 lb 12 oz    13 lb 4 oz                6.01 kg

Using any pole at 60ft is an art and difficult as you have found out. The modulars are a true joy and pleasure to use. Maybe it needs its own topic but Alex has covered it pretty well. ps I think the F16 may be lighter than the S2.
Oh ....theres another modular due out on Friday.

Luke,
Dont have the full details yet as it underwent some changes after my recomendations, I thought the base sections where over engineered compared to the F16. Base sections on most fishing poles are strong enough for our use whatever height you use it at.
Price ?

Aint had hands on a S2 so cannot really compare, similar you havent had hands on the other pole.
Bash it against a tree- not my pole,  its for window cleaning !
Could I if I was the manuf. ? err  ... Yes.

Absolutely right!  The only reason I was able to repeatedly smash the S2 into a tree was that I am the manufacturer and if for some reason the section had splintered into oblivion I would have gone into the workshop and pulled out another section.  I treat the poles I work with, with great care and respect.  These poles are designed for window cleaning and should be used for that purpose, not for stunting tree growth.  Similarly, I wouldn't spend £1600 on a E2+ (45ft) and then take a section of it and smash it against a tree, even if I thought it could cope with it.

The reason we chose to publish the 'tree' video is that it very quickly shows just how tough these poles really are without having to rely on just our say-so.

Sounds like we have some competition come Friday  :)

Alex the only trouble I had with this pole was I used all of the ptfe spray in one go, it is only a 70ml bottle, for £4 I ordered a 400ml bottle of ptfe spray from ebay!! apart from that everything is great, Luke

I have trialled the GT-85 from Ebay and it is definitely not suitable for the purpose as it is a wet lubricant.

We have now sourced the PTFE spray in 400ml cans and these are now in stock for £6.50. These will last a lot longer than the old 70 ml size and offer much better value.
