Whats with everyone wanting there guttering and facias cleaned this year?

I had 2 calls this morning for one offs for windows and complete guttering cleans?
Went around today priced them both and got them, both to be done wednesday.

I have never had so much guttering work as I have this year, anyone know whats going on? Not that I'm complaining, Just curious?

I do all mine by ladders, might take a little longer than wfp, but I think it does a better Job? (just my opinion)

Saying that maybe next week after a few more investigations, I am going to buy a petrol pressure washer and the gutter Lance.

I can't believe it, The boss took another booking tonight for gutter cleaning and windows.
Am I missing something?? or are they all expecting sever weather and Just making sure all the rain washes away safely?
This all started after the bad weather we had in June, Maybe it did open a few peoples eye's and there only now getting around to getting them sorted for the autum.

I have been getting loads for the past 6 months.

I think its all the rain we have had this year thats washed a lot of people's moss of their roofs and into the gutters.

I charged £45 quid the other week it was a big house with gutters everywhere took me about 2/half- 3hrs to do em and flushed em out with hose etc

I have got one to quote for, but £45 for 2-3 hrs of a job no one wants to do seems a bit low.I would be interested to hear what others charge.

Im charging £50 for a small one.

On gutters i try and earn £50 an hour as this is premium work.
And i do it by hand

I charge £50 for a 2 bedroom house, this is premium work and work that most custy's wont even touch them selfs, so charge well for it.

I was doing one today and had another guy asked how much I charge, he doesn't even want his windows done as he does them him self? but he won't do his own guttering.
Gave him my price and I now have another one booked in, with this type of work people can see what there getting for there money, even from across the road they can see results.
Don't sell your self short, your offering a service that a lot of people including some w/c won't touch so your in a good position to price well.

Midlands is nothing compared to down south, i'm not a full timer so can't have an accurate view but i can see that a price fluctuates.

I think the image you put across to a customer can determine the price you can charge.

For instance, a bloke on a bike with a rusty pair on ladders and a trowel would probably get a little less than a bloke in a 57 plate vito with professional marketing material.

Charge what your worth.

For you, if your doing a gutter clean it would take you 1-2 hours on an average house, that tells me it should be £30-60, if you don't think you can get a premiuim rate, dont try, but dont undercut what you charge for window cleaning.

I'm in the midlands, and i know my old man takes a good half a day, he gets paid a decent wage and i know for the sake of being up and down them ladders he'd pay £50 every 6-9 months - Its just the fact of getting people like this as a customer, as he hates doorknockers.

I know what you mean presentation is important I have a decent van all signwriting done, printed T-shirts etc and all the gear I work in the Telford and Wrekin area and also have customers Shrewsbury area.

I get up the ladders to clean out gutters - don't see how it could be done wfp lol

Did another guttering clean this afternoon, I thought it was a bungalow when I went and priced it last week, but when I went around the back, it was a house built into a hillside

I had to use my big ladders and I also had to wear Bicycle clips on this one
