How Long To Clean??
« on: September 12, 2007, 10:02:40 pm »
How long does it take you to clean an average 3 bed semi with wfp.
The proprty has good access to rear, no conservatory, small pane in front door, no porch, half glazed back door included frosted bathroom window.Total average time for frames cills and windows, standard pvcu windows.??

After 3rd clean does it take any longer to clean on a 6 week call as it does on a 4 week call??

On that same 3 bed semi what do you find is the major factor which slows down the time it takes to clean??

Thankyou
Mark

between 20 and 25 minutes depending on how pushed i am.
I wouldn't have dared to do it a while back but i have now begun to notice  several jobs that i don't need to rinse after cleaning. This knocks 5 mins off the time.

15-20 mins max,on a regular clean that includes being packed up and driving off,but only if there out gotta use your loaf.Regardless of the good quality finish if your to quick and there in look out.

I thought Wfp was quicker, I clean trad 3 bed house like stated in about 10 mins, i am hoping the wfp rates are higher or its going to cost me a fortune. ???

What is an average 3 bed semi? I can think of 3 different styles all with different amounts of windows in my street alone. WFP is not always quicker, it is just another tool ;)

If it is a small 3 bed semi with 3 windows and a door on the front, one side window and 3 windows and a door on the back then 10 minutes would easily do you. That is as long as you had the right set-up, van-microbore-light pole.

4 or 6 weeks does not make too much difference in time, unless there has been very bad weather.

The biggest factor affecting your clean time is actually your set-up time and access. I have seen some WFP'ers who take so long getting their equipment out of the vehicle etc that cleaning the house takes less time. It should be -  park up, get your reel out the vehicle facing the right way, lift your pole off the roof and connect up. Walk round the house to the farthest point turn on your valve and start work. Total set-up time 30-60 seconds MAX.

From the time you pull up to the time you pull away it shouldnt take any longer than 15 mins and this includes frames, sills, doors and small overhead plastic porch over front door but this depends on what obstacles are in the way ie plant pots, weelie bins, bikes and cars.
but like you said your house has good access!

Most of my houses are 6 weeks but I spend the same amount of time on them as I do with the 4 weeklys. I have a few 8 weeklys and I do spend slightly longer on them.

or even open your back doors, pull the microbore from your reel attached to the floor that has your pole connected at all times, switch on and clean, set up time: as long as it takes to walk from van to house (about 4 seconds)  ;) ;D

So providing you have enough work 6 week cleaning is the better option over 4 week cleans and gives you a better return on your hourly rate......because you charge more on a 6 week call.

Is that correct??

I don't charge anymore for 6 week cleans,... they stay cleaner with WFP,.. and its quicker than trad,... my customers ar happy and so am I!!

Even without increasing your prices, your income will rise 50% within a few months of going WFP,.. you'll just need to pick up some extra work for the other few weeks.
