I hired a rug doctor a good few yars ago just to see what it did and how good it did it!
Everything has a purpose in life and the Rug Doctor too will have a purpose (....thinking about that).
However if you are doing serious carpet cleaning for a reward ie payment, then in my humble opinion the R/doc has limited use.
I found it clumsy to use (had to pull across the carpet) and not do a particularly good clean.
Someone else might think it is the best thing since sliced bread!!
Try to get a demo and test it out for yourself, after all its your money and your the one using it.

Look out for second hand better mcs. There are for sale sections around, ask on here. It may be a bit scruffy but as long as it pumps and sucks up to standard it will do for the time being.

£500 is a good price for that machine. If it's to be used to do a small office by relatively untrained staff then I'd say go for it.

However, if you are intending to use it to earn a living your £500 would probably be better spent on something else.

i would suggest that you try to hire one first before you commit to buying......

might save yourself £460!!!

I can't tell you why but it appears to be correct.
Quick search via Google shows recovery tank larger.
RRP is £950, discounted to £595 inc VAT so £500 is a good price.
BUT is it a good buy??

Why are you considering buying this machine?

If its for DIY cleaning of your own carpets then fine but for running a carpet cleaning business forget it.

For a decent HWE machine you need to INVEST in at least 2x3 stage vacs, 100psi pump and a heater.  Nothing less will do and if you havent got the money then wait until you have.

If you want to make money cleaning carpets then you have to spend money first and IMO youll need £10k for the best new gear to cover all types of carpets and situations.

I was considering it just as a little back up machine

At your stage of business use the £500 for something more productive.

Youll only need a backup machine once or twice a year.

In answer to your question yes the Rug Doctor Wide Track is powerful enough to do a small office.

In my opinion they do a good cleaning job. and the water recovery is good.

It had or has same water recovery as starter prochem type machines.

Pumps are low preasure but you get two so Im not sure if that is the equilivent to one 75psi pump.

Remember the Water out and Water pick up only has to travel a little way with Rug Doctor and the vibrating brush does a lot of the work. if you go to www.rugdoctor.co.uk you will find an info commercial.

In my opinion Rug Doctors are expensive when they breakdown, ie new pumps motors carriage etc.

If you want to be a serious Carpet Cleaner the rug doctor is not for you.

If you want it for the odd room in a Care home Warden Flats Flats without lifts Rug Doctor wide Track ideal
