Listening to certain types of music makes the brain more open for learning....

anyway, get your self a Creative Zen M:vision then you can listen to the radio, listen to music or watch window cleaning videos all day long! The battery lasts for 16  hours or so.

Hi

To Be honest all the wires for the music would just be another burden, and would probably just get tangled up in my hose like everything else.  ;D

and anyway... its rush on rush off... drive here , drive there...

aint got time for music.... now if pound notes could sing i would be listening to them all day...

So for me its ... rush but enjoy , but music would def slow me down, and i would certainly lose concentration.

Gary.

no sorry guys if im charging from £30 to clean someones windows i think out of respect to the custie
that i should be looking as to be doing a proper job not looking like the chave on the street lol EDD

Respect to the custie?

Whats listening to the radio got to do with respect, we're talking about listening to the radio here not abusing them or shaggin 'em.

I have yet to see a apinter and decorator that doesnt listen to the radio, does that mean all painters and decorators are disrespectful individuals?

This thread is about simple entertainment whilst perfroming what ahs already been said is a mundane job a times.

Hi everybody , I live in Germany and listen all day to BFBS radio on my mobile, Nearly all my work is inside and out and my customers don´t have a problem with it - I only use one earpiece so I can hear what´s going on in the background , It makes a days´ work a hell of alot more enjoyable  :) :)

Has anyone lost a job due to wearing earphones?

Imagine...

Customer- "Sorry i'm finding another window cleaner"

Window Cleaner- "Why?"

Customer- "you wear earphones whilst working"

We're window cleaners for god's sake not doctors or lawyers ::)

True story about music and doctors.
4 years ago my wife was in hospital ready to give birth to our eldest.  After being told she was ready and they `started` her off 3 days later the little chap had not arrived.  Suddenly she was rushed into theatre for a c-section.
I went in to watch the fun and the anaesthetist put on a CD player. Loudly.  Obviously noticing my look of confusion he said the doctor finds it helps him concentrate on the job in hand.

If a doctor can manage to work with music in his ears perhaps us window cleaners can cope.
Veni, vidi, vino, splatus.

All the wires.....

Was a joke... meaning i get tangled up anyway.... so why would i need another distraction....

Music is fine for those who want to listen to it, and can afford a steady pace, because thats what music will do...  steady the ship and slow it down......
for me its about getting the job done as quickly and professsionally as possible, whilst trying to drop some leaflets in surrounding houses

Not to mention not hearing the phone ring for potential new business.

Its personal choice and when my round is full and i no longer have to worry as much i might pop some music on....

In the van!! between calls.

I used to like listening to the radio 4 plays until one day I found myself calling out an answer to a shouted question only to turn round and find no-one there. It was on the play! :-[

I had a couple of very talented custies who also kept me entertained some years ago.

One was an excellent pianist that I used to go to school with and the other was an elderly gent who had a terrific voice and he didn't care who heard him. He used to sing in his garden in the summer and I could hear him for an hour or so whilst I was working in the area. The pianist I couldn't hear for so long, but for a couple of houses either side I could hear him loud and clear. He was real good too. Ended up teaching in a Uni somewhere I beleive.
