Computer Software
« on: September 13, 2004, 08:42:44 pm »
We are currently investing quite a lot of money into some new computer software being built for our business. This software has been written for another type of business and has been in use for a couple of years now, we are having the software changed by the writers to suit our type of business this will include the following;

1. Customer details
2. date, time, and type of job,
3. cost of job,
4. fully integrated with sage accounts so at the touch of a button you can change an order into a sale with automated invoice printing, VAT returns, end of month/year printoffs and end of year accounts.
5. Automatically write to a selected group of customers, i.e schools, comercial, domestics, customers who say used your services 1 year ago the list is endless,

This will make the administration side of the business unbelievably easy, you will be able to show who has reffered who, what you cleaned, problems with the clean, types of stains on carpets, rebook customers at the touch of a button without re-inputting their details, print off job sheets for the days work the list goes on and on.

The software we expect will be available after we have trialed it succesfully, although we will not be selling this software, you will have to purchase it direct from the company along with a monthly package that will allow for updates, helplines, and maintainance etc, as the software will be updated on a regular basis to allow for changes and updates to operating software, this i expect will be an invaluble tool to ccs everywere, we expect to have our fully finished copy in the next two weeks.

Should anybody be interested in this software then please let me know

regards Dave ADL

Maybe so Dave, but it does come at a sensible cost and after all we are Carpet Cleaners NOT Rocket Scientists.

You do say in the opening to your post that you had invested a LOT of money.

What i should have posted was that we have spent a lot of time and money, after all time is money, and as to the cost i am unsure as to how much it will cost yet, i dont expect it to cost a fortune, but their will be a monthly maintainance charge that will keep you updatedwith new releases and for any problems that you have with the software.

Its just the same as everyone claims on this forum, if you want quality & proffesional work doing then you have to pay, you cant expect very much for free as we all keep telling the cowboys £10.00 a lounge brigade.  ;)

This isnt an accounts programme, as i said it will be fully useable along with sage accounts, microsoft office, plus a number ofother applications, it will not need to be re-written as updates will be freely available to co-incide with leglistative/ operating system upgrades, this software is however being written by the writers of sage products so you can expect something special.

I bought a program called george it is for window cleaning, i got this last year and you can adapt it.
you can do date export to a data base, and you can do jobs types, debts, expenses, reports ,notes, invoice ,addresses, and the accounts, and it does a lots move to, it is the most easiest program i have used.
you can get this for 3 montns free.
the web site is www.georgesystems.co.uk
you can play about with it to see what you think.
they are going to update the program to george 4
and do some changes to may it better for carpet cleaners. This program is not expensive . give it a go
if you buy it every time they update it it is free.
