As a software programmer for the window cleaning side you should know the difference between chalk and cheese

Pre-booking = one of cleans etc window cleaning is not normally a one off clean its regular weekly monthly etc who has there carpets cleaning this regular it can take a customer 2 years to call you back, I would love to phone my window cleaner and say I’m having a party tomorrow can you!!

Are you now saying that you system dose that! When we had a conversation a few mouths ago you said no! And I said look in to it ££

Please prove me wrong at £50 I would give you £100 for the software.

Is Ashley a rep for Travelodge? ;D

Hi Len

The only reason I said it might not be suitable is that you can't book specific times.

Apart from that it should be ok. It handles one off Jobs quite easily and keeps the details on file so you can re-activate the Job with a single mouse click.

It might not be exactly what you want but it's not "chalk and cheese" ...

Hi len

The george system does work for carpet cleaners
i use it, you do have to play about with it to work for you. If you are going to carpex in london i will bring it on my lap top for you to see what it can do,  and how i use it. And no i am not a rep for travelodge, i thought it was a good deal, that why i book in.

As I said cc need to book specific times not I will be there between what ever and turn up next day/day after.

I mean no disparity to window cleaners they turn up when ever, is the customer date/time waiting NO are they for a cc YES that what I meant by chalk and cheese timing is very important in the cc field customers may take a half day off etc. so what the point in buying a program when it dose not cover the fundamentals TIME

It’s not what I want it’s what’s needed in a program for cc Paul have a look a http://www.camelotsoftware.com/index.htm I’m not saying this is the greatest program but near as one can get! Doesn’t link with Sage but saying that Sage doesn’t link with Sage one has to buy the more expensive package

Can’t wait for the beta version from Dave555 ???

As i am sure their are many different ccs that require many different things from a programme if you let me know i might be able to incorporate this within the software, it would be far better to have software designed for ccs by ccs that way we all can benefit.

Send me the beta version and I will let you know. I’ll just love programmers it shouldn’t have done that!

As a first point be singular/multi operative. Plus time/date

J Hunter
aka Ashleys it brought you out and yes I’m going to carpex but as far as I can see this software is no good for prearranged times as Paul has advised, re juggling haven’t got time, but always open to conversion.

Hi Len

The Camelot software is designed for a larger business than George is aimed at.

It's 4 times the price of ours (single user) so it ought to have more features ...

Hi paul

I would have thought that this would have been a good opportunity for you to adapt/create your system for use by carpet cleaners.

There is obviously a market for a an easy to use method for carpet cleaners to a build customer date base with diary's,payment tracking, quotation and invoice raising facility etc etc

Many carpet cleaners would jump at the chance to have just such a system. ;)

What do you think?

Hi

We already have "customer date base with diary's, payment tracking, quotation and invoice raising facility etc etc" so we only need to add the appointment time and we already have plans to do that.

We can't change George 3 so it will have to wait for George 4 - sometime in the the future ...

I have viewed the software today and following quite lenghty discussions about it we have decided to downscale the version for use by others,

The software although i said that you will be able to link it to sage accounts, we are looking at the possibility of just printing off invoices from the software without using sage.

As a lot of people dont use microsoft office we are looking at setting up mail merge templates using windows wordpad.

The system that we are having built for our own use is unbelievable, as we will be having a lot of people in the office as from the start of 2005 and using the internet it even has a security system built in that whenever anybody sends an email, changes a job, quotes anybody or anything else to do with the system it will automatically send me a copy of the email, send a link to my pc notifying me of any quotes sent out, price adjustments made on the system and just about anything else that the staff do on the company computers.

you will be able to pick up a set of customers (say domestics) that have had cleans done, say las june and write to them through mail merge.

it will have full quote forms, job allocation to staff members, all staff diarys on the system, to-do lists for the individual staff, reminders appointment books, customer databases,

It will have special tools that whenevr you send emails to anyone it will automatically pick your latest leaflets or speacial offers and send them along with your emails.

I have only just touched on what the system can do, however if any one uses sage then the appearanve will be very similar to that.

The fields within the software can be changed by the user to suit any type of business.

I expect it will be a coupe of weeks now before the changes have been made.

This is going to be an invaluble tool to any business no matter how big or small.

i will keep you posted on how its going.

Ps thanks for all emails regarding this product

Safe and happy cleaning

Regards Dave ADL
