At 35ft I would use a Fishing pole (Featherlite  :) £350ish no vat) against any other pole including an ergo. At 50ft its no contest hands down winner from a working point of view is the modular every single time.

definately supa lite but buy a golf trolley to put sections in it makes it much easier to assemble and you dont tread on them and break them.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Have a look at the diy link below, next to my www link, look at  reply 3. extensions are £50 inc vat so you would need 2 extra to get to 52 ish and four to get to 62ft. You just use  a hacksaw.

Hi Marc,

The 2 week lead time is for assembling not delivery, delivery is next day. If you ordered one you would be more than welcome to pick it up personally, however it woul only speed it up by about a day.

We have such a strong regular demand for these poles that we have to state a 2 week lead time for them.  They are hand assembled so we have regular slots each week to make them and there are always several in queue at a time.

A point worth bearing in mind when comparing them to a 56ft Facelift is that the facelift actual height is only about 53ft whereas the Super-Lite 60 has an actual height of 61ft.

You would probably be able to reach as high with an SL-50  as you would with a facelift 56ft, an SL-55ft  would probably have a reach of about 4ft higher than the facelift.

The weight of a Facelift 56 is 7.00kg compared with the SL-50 at 2.6kg or the SL-55 at 2.94kg.

It is worth bearing in mind that the Facelift is a very sturdy pole though and can take much abuse. Whereas the Super-lite has to be treated with care, but will reward with incredible ease of use and lack of strain.

We sell both types of poles so can be quite unbiased in our opinion of them.

How do the poles compare for whipiness? Are they easy is it to move from window to window or between buildings? Also, how easy is it to raise the pole? Is it a one or two man job?
Ta!

I rave on all the time about carbon facelifts (as i use a 44ft one & its great)
BUT to be honest i would go for the superlight if your work is above 44ft.
I wouldn't want to go any higher than 44ft with the facelift.

Hi SteveKennedy,

The Super-Lites are the stiffest poles on the market, due to the exceptionally hi-modulus carbon fibre and the taper joint design. Manoeuvring a 60ft between windows is always going to be a tricky task. We would recommend that when using a Super-Lite in excess of 45ft, that it becomes a 2 man job (1 to move hose and to help with section removal/fitting).  However, many Super-Lite users disagree and quite happily use them with just one person.

Raising the pole is very simple (especially when compared to 8ft sectioned telescopic poles).  You can assemble it up to 40ft on the ground (see video clip below) and then lift it up.  Once upright you simply lean the pole against the building and add any extra sections you need.

Hi Pdh,

Yes, most of the pole is made by Maver with the exception of the 'unique to us' top section. We decided to go with one of the more expensive manufacturers as the quality of the pole is very good. We have compared the Maver poles with the MAP F16 (which is a very popular pole with the 'DIY' pole fraternity, due to it's good value), but there is no comparison in it's rigidity. The Maver's are much stiffer and hence easier to use. You could buy the bits to make most of a 'Super-Lite' direct from a fishing retailer but even at discounted prices they would still cost £470 for just the pole sections for an SL-35 without the gooseneck, hose, brush, insulation, adjustable bung, joint treatment, 'joint-stops', strengthened top section and instruction manual.

We have found with carbon fibre fishing poles, you do get what you pay for.
