hi ,

Does everyone use shurflo pumps or flojet...

whats wrong with the other pumps you can buy for much less with the same power.. lots on ebay.. but until now i have only browsed the above...

i understand about quality regarding shurflo etc... but what about the average garden/pond /caravan pumps...

or am i way off? :D

a lot of garden pond pumps are centrifugal pumps - they aren't a closed system whereby the pump still operates against high backpressures caused by microbore etc.  Also most of them are designed for intermittent use.

i have just built my own trolley and i am using a plastimo pump, 65psi @ 3lpm and it works fine and its only £30, i have used it in the van aswell and it pumps up a 30' pole with ease.
a lot cheaper then shurflo or flojet and works just aswell

i got them from a local boat yard that i used to work in.
if you want i can give you a part number and i think you can go straight to plastimo.
let me know

still no email ....  but i would say any boat or caravan pump would be designed for intermittant use
