Hello Trevor,
Thank you for your enquiry. I set up the Oven Cleaning Service after looking at a couple of franchises, thinking I could probably do better going it alone, and I believe that to be true. It's the same as with the carpet cleaning, in so far as you have to advertise to your market. The work is definitely there and it isn't difficult to find - it's easier to find than carpet cleaning beacuse not as many people are offering the service - and I got a lot of repeat work without ever having to contact my clients again - they simply called me back when their oven got dirty. I offered them the usual guarantees - that if they weren't happy they didn't have to pay, but everyone was absolutely delighted with the job I did. It's dirty work, but it does complement carpet cleaning very well and in terms of rates of pay I charged £45 for a single oven, £55 for a double, ranges from £75 and I could do two to four jobs a day. If fully booked, you could easily do £200+. However, saying that, the company I trained with, based near Guildford, had operatives doing double that easily.
