[Grafters Cleaning Services]

I went to a customers house today (an old biddy) knocked on the door then took the house around the back of the house, she pops out and says hello.
 I’m just about to get started when out comes her 40 year old son (who also lives in the house ) and says in an abrupt tone.
“it’s not convenient” so I reply “sorry” and he then repeats himself and then shuts the door.
I then pack the hose away and the old biddy comes to the front door and says “I’m sorry about that, will you come back next month?”

I now reply back to her “……………………………………………………………..”

So lets have your answers, what do you think I said?

If I had my wits about me I would say "If your son comes out and apologises for his rude manners then I'll think about it."

If she sided with him I'd say - "Oh, I didn't realise... ... it's obviously down to his upbringing - Good day."

In actuality (with not much time to think)  I'd probably say " Sorry love, I don't work where I'm not appreciated, good-bye."

Why knock?  I think you're just leaving yourself open to the 'not this month' type of customer.

Just turn up and clean!  As long as you've arranged terms and conditions, then there's no problems.  

They'd have to be really cheeky 'bar-stewards' if they then stopped you mid-flight.

Tosh, i agree with what you are saying, but she is an old biddy and deaf as a post so i have to knock real hard, the reason i do this is that once she knows i'm there she can then get her money ready to pay me rather than me wait around.

you don't knock then Tosh? my partner never did and i found this to be awkward and rude, i alwasy knock as i know what i'd do if someone just turned up to my house and let themselves in so to speak, i have always found that a little odd, mind you he can get more work done in a day than i can maybe i'm slowing myself down a little

i may have sacked a £10 call but that can be easly replaced

In September a 50 quid house i do lady comes out when ive unloaded and says can you come back at christmas were not going to be in a lot between now and then.
I just looked at her but didnt say a word just put my stuff away and drove off, she will be ringing anyday and i will happily tell her to go and f**K herself as i will br looking after the customers that have looked after me all year.
If you let someone treat you like crap once they will do it even more unless they have a genuine excuse
