When I started with the CD franchise in 1990 (left 2001), independents were the spawn of the devil, to be avoided at all costs, far inferior to the wonderful CD.  ::)
As we all know we soak carpets, warp floors, fill the house with mould,  shrink carpets and dance naked in the woods at full moon (or is that last one just me?)  :P

CD can sell one franchise per 60k population, they periodically review the population of any given area and thus allow themselves to sell more franchises, heavens best is indeed a franchise , run along VERY different lines to chem dry!

homeserve chemdry run company owned franchisees the boss i worked for sold his franchise back to head office. Belive me they the most unorganize company i every came
across so i left 2 months , set up my own carpet cleaning firm and not looked back.
chemdry charge a 70% mark up on all the carpet cleaning solutions that they  sell  to a franchise plus you have to spend a set amount each month per franchise licence area.

Reading your post mate sounds like Dick Turpin's running Chem-Dry
I think next time someone mentions Chem-Dry to me I'll have to say "Don't you mean DICK TURPIN Madam"

Reliably informed to fill a one of their porties with CD agents is £10 each (two solutions) wish I brought the master franchise and sold it. 8)

Re CD customers know this name; it’s down to branding Rainbow on the other hand a newbie to the cc world, SM fallen by the wayside, think M&S  still have the number under the cushion. ;D

Think the NCCA will have their hands full at this moment!  They are setting up a new (new!!!!!) standard sponsored by Rainbow. As a business person I can understand.
