If it takes Daz (an experienced wfp'er) 1 to 1.5 hours to clean this property by wfp then CLEARLY THIS JOB WAS RIDICULOUSLY UNDERPRICED BY ANY STANDARD!!
It bears no relevance to use as any example for anyone or anything. Anyone who can't see that then BLATANTLY has issues.

No disrespect Nath but your obsession with educating all and sundry on what they should be charging is getting a little silly.

Nice one Daz.
It's post's like this, that motivate us to keep our prices up, believe in our self-worth,  and help us improve the quality of our rounds.
Thanks Daz for sharing.

correct mate.the trad guy is around the same age as me and has inherited most of his dads round(his dads still going at 70!)albeit on a much reduced working week.his priced are ridiculously low.he doesnt touch the frames, very rarely sills and misses all the awkward windows out as he s on ladders.

ive picked up loads of their jobs over the course of the last 10 years at much better prices.they cant get their heads round the fact if you offer a much better service you can charge a whole lot more.his dads been window cleaning in the area for 52 years!!(he started when he was 18).

price higher/work harder!

So what your saying is guys like you tend to be under priced and others starting up in your area shouldn't use your prices as an example of what its possible to achieve.
I suppose that explains your need for speed.

You guys crack me up you really do 😂😂😂
Have you ever thought of doing stand up comedy......

How many times on the forum do we hear....." you cant charge those prices here when everybody in the area charges less!!"

"Your ripping people off     or i would be embarrassed to charge those prices etc etc etc."
The point is you dont know untill you try!! But yes you have to back it up with quality, and yes im one of the most expensive in my areas and very pleased that i have a minimum charge because when you tell people that, its suprising how it gets rid of the messers straight away!!

Don't take it to heart Nathan.

Some posters don't actually read any post that A) hasn't got pictures in it and B) has words more than seven characters long.

It's a game of three halves!

Regardless if the price was ridiculously low to begin with.........she was prepared to pay £40 more than what she was in the first place!!!   Thats the point!!

It would be like Dazmond pricing your splash and dash customers, some will be happy enough and stay with you because you still offer value for money and others would be happy to pay more for a better quality cleaner.
That's the lesson here, Dazmond won the work because he offered a better quality clean and even though his price was higher
he was still value for money.

Love to see the size of these houses

my biggest is 30 quid.

Either theres no biggies round here or im well and truly cleaning in a poop hole  :(

i work mainly in affluent areas of cheshire mate but live in salford, manchester(cheaper living costs, rent etc).

the house is a large 5 or 6 bedder  with a couple of outbuildings.its set in its own grounds.right near lots of other work too so no time lost driving to and from the job. ;)

ironically she had a leaflet from UK WINDOW CLEANING (whoever they are)just the other day.she ripped it up in front of me so i think shes going to be a good customer. 8)

Ok that explains it then. Wish I lived near Cheshire  :( infact if it was up to me I would up sticks and move but r lass won't have it.

Salfords a bit of a contrast is it? Been through  there a few times, a few parts i wouldn't want to be walking through at night.

im on the outskirts of salford so not too bad but i was born in stretford and ive lived in weaste before now.lots of decent "salt of the earth" folk but a bigger percentage of scum/nutters too.its only 15 min drive to the land of milk and honey for work though! ;D

its took me many years to get established and trusted in the posher areas adam but it seems to have snowballed lately.im getting more and more larger stand alone properties which is a change from other work.virtually all my round is condensed into a 5 mile affluent area so im not spending too much time driving about.

if you not happy with your current areas of work cant you start another round in a nicer area at higher prices?all you need is a couple of houses and take it from there.all my new work comes from word of mouth and recommendation.

They're all over Daz, yet to loose a customer to them though. Free first clean must be a nightmare for the startups.

Just gone to price up a job in an area hit hard by the pit closures, but thank fully a nice part of the area (well in comparison to the rest of the area)  said to wife i wasnt expecting to get the job, but i went to do the quote as i said i would.

Well it paid me to do so!  Along with reminding me not to sweep everyone under the same brush, so to speak.

Its a lovely kept house (which to me says alot about the owner so thats a plus!) With a large conservatory with 4 angled roofs.

So gave him my quote;
Roof clean £90
Windows either £18   4wkly or £25   8wkly.
Also signed up for go cardless!!

So we got talking n his previous cleaner charged £15 which i was suprised at but then he told me he used to give a quick rinse over all the glass on the roof 😯😯
Could i do the same??
Told him i could as and when he wanted me to do so but there would be an additional charge for the time n effort in doing so!!

Hes signed up for roof clean n 4 wkly cleans (£3 more per month for less work)
Im pleased with that.

Regular conny roof cleans are a doddle and different from the occasional ones we all get. I have two that have their roofs done every single time (8 weekly) and I charge £20 a pop.

To put it in context I would probably charge £40 for one (lean to) and £50 for the other if it was say six monthly as they are good regular customers.
