In my mind it has to help the clean, I've run out of gas while working in past and instantly noticed the glide get slightly harder on the glass and little marks on frames sills etc need that extra pass.
I look at like this for example, next time you butter a piece of toast shove the knife under a tap of cold water and watch the left over butter on the blade, nothing shifts then put the hot water on and watch it run off into the sink.
No scrubbing or anything just a change in water temp, now we don't have butter on windows lol but its just a point that it helps soften any dirt, bird crap or anything else on the windows.
I love the soft hoses too, makes dragging them round just that bit easier and yes I could and have worked with cold and it wouldn't be a problem but anything to make the job easier or better for me.
I use the cheaper stainless heater myself and its well set up,vented efficiently and maintained every year and this is my 4th year now and its still going strong, they are made very cheaply though having stripped it down in past and it will always be a risk but for me no more than an electrical wire burning out etc because I have it set up fine and serviced every so often.
£30 a month on a 19kg bottle I spend and always shut it off when finished at the end of the day, maybe I could put an inline tap to easier shut it off after every job but I'm happy how it's set up, can understand others concerns though but we all do our own things in life.

I choose to use hot all year round for the simple reason that it makes jobs a whole lot easier or I would not bother.

Peeps still using cold for whatever reason I would say don't knock using hot until you give it a go.
The ones that have stopped using hot purely down to cost I  would say to them why not just put yer prices up then... Sorted lol

Don't think anybody's knocking it, hot will only clean better if what you're getting on the glass needs better to remove it sometimes you just don't need a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

So I take by that comment you never use hot then as if you did you would know how much more effective it is than using cold even on so say regular cleans.

More effective at what ? removing a months worth of dust and the odd bird poo that can be removed easily and quickly with  quick soak and a Gardiner scraper.
Don't need to have used it to know I don't need it.

Like I said before don't knock it until you have tried it as you may be pleasantly surprised.

I can't believe the people knocking it without trying it lol
I used to knock wfp when I was trad a few years ago because I couldn't get my head round leaving windows wet but here I am wfp and loving it.
Honestly can't see how people who haven't even tried it can even make a comment on it with no experience?

Same here i knocked wfp, but like u said it makes life cleaning windows easier. I also couldnt see point in hot, but after a slight taste, here i am cutting holes in my tank and sticking a 27" element in. Its easy to do and once tasted, i dont desire to go back to cold and my work is 4wkly.

I would imagine if like me most will say once they have tried hot they would not go back to just using cold given a choice. Mind some are very set in their ways no matter what tools are at their disposal to make their job easier to do.

Still it makes me chuckle as the likes of ionic go on about how great a zero ppb system is but still sell a hot version. Wonder why that is? lol

Its simple, I don't need to have used a parts per billion machine to know I don't need one to do the job I need to do yet
I'm sure you will get somebody who will tell me I'm missing out.
Maybe the fact that you used to knock wfp means deep down you still don't really trust its up to the job hence you need hot
as a confidence booster.

Never tries hot but am happy with cold.

I will get an immersion next winter I think just to try it but mainly guard against freezing.

Immersion heater, nice hot water all day long. No burning of eye brows, no blowing your van up. No missing out information to insurance company and worrying if they dont pay out. Quite simply,
Safe,  safe  and oh yes,,,,,, safe
 ;D
Does that pumps out 50 degrees at 3.30 pm?

My tank is insulated. It holds the temp all day, by night (8pm ish) it will have dropped by 5 -10 degrees  pending quantity of water left in tank (500l)
So if going hot i would recommend insulating your tank.

Lol, any more objections to be overturned   ;D

No it just means the window dry clean, thought it sounded good back in the day when wfp wasn't that well known, wouldn't
pick it now though.

I betting that name confused quite a few old folk though. You know the ones "you left my windows wet" brigade.

I ticked the last option - to stop freezing (I use an immersion) but supple hoses are a joy and save effort in untwisting them. If I know I have a big first clean or a school (six monthly) I might raise the temperature but for regular (8 weekly) cleans I only put the immersion on (into the mid-20 degrees) if:-

a) the natural water temperature will be below about 10 - 15 degrees
b) I have a full day of work
c) the air temperature at start of day is below about 5 degrees

All figures are approximate and down to my mood on the day or the night before and there is an element of CBA that overrides sometimes.

I will raise it (to about 40 degrees) if I have a first clean of some size.

I find that with 400/500L to start with at say 25/30 degrees, by the end of the day the temperature is still above 20 degrees when I am in the last 100L or so.
It's a game of three halves!
