Not sure what the big deal is with it being described as 'crash tested'...?
The cage can be as strong as it likes, but you're tank will only be as secure as the place that takes the most stress (i.e, how securely you bolt it down)
Granted baffled tabks would help, but by the sound of it you've just bought the cage? What was wrong with the one you had in the van that's pooped?

Bit of advice though, with the little miles you do; give it a boot once every couple of months mate, to try and get the dpf to regen
