now that is a bad decision imo, think you will regret that one its just a standard wydale tank. If i was you i would sell the tank and get an exact replica in size custom made with the proper baffles for an extra couple of hundred

Oh God, he's going to fit it lengthways with 'no more nails'

Drive up to Grimsby and have it fitted properly. Loads of fit birds up there.

Not sure what the big deal is with it being described as 'crash tested'...?

The cage can be as strong as it likes, but you're tank will only be as secure as the place that takes the most stress (i.e, how securely you bolt it down)

Granted baffled tabks would help, but by the sound of it you've just bought the cage? What was wrong with the one you had in the van that's pooped?

Nice one on the new van though btw, the new connects look nice
Bit of advice though, with the little miles you do; give it a boot once every couple of months mate, to try and get the dpf to regen

yep itll get fitted length ways again  dave (up against the bulkhead) so as not to overload the front axles and the same garage will be fitting it.they might charge me a bit more than the £100 they charged me last time but a lot cheaper than pure freedom and just a 2 min drive up the road. :)

if its good enough for spruce then its good enough for me

I recommend you throw an old duvet over it Daz. It helps to keep the sunlight out and reduces the amount of algae growth in the tank.

Crash tested tanks are only tested and certificated to 30 mph as far as I'm aware.  The baffling in those Wyedale tanks aren't the best but they work OK in our experience. At least they are easier to clean out.

My son has his 500 liter tank fitted sideways in his van. It rocks a bit when he stops but not much. The 3 x 125 liter tanks on my trailer fitted length ways where what rocking was all about.

Hi daz

Can't see point fitting it length ways in van

unless you have ordered  van with two doors it will limit the usable space and make it really awkward getting tools in and out

It will not affect front axels or suspension I've 500 in mine can't even feel it when it's full

I fill up end day for next day to be honest it's a bouncy drive if it s only got half tank in

I have an upright tank cage in my van and I'll never get another it's like a
Pallet of bricks in the middle of the van taking up all the room,I'd rather get a custom built flat full length of the van fitted round the wheel arches. Tank cages are so 90s lol

tony dont forget this is the way i have it set up in my old van.i like it as i can fit trad tools/bucket near the side loading door and store less used items down the other side(like pump sprayer/backpack,trolley etc.)

Maybe try an under slung tank next time if you want loads of room in the back

Hi daz

I understand that's how you worked before and I get that it's  what we're used to

Did you have a high roof connect before
as the  LwB connect is long  van  with a lower  roof just makes finding things a challenge When there so far back
crawling around  on your knees

I'm 5:7 at a push and I find it a pain when going in on hand and knee  for Bucket or other stuff just something to bear in mind

im 6ft 2in with large long arms! ;D

i suppose the lower roof will be better for getting the ladders off.my bucket in my other van is right near the side loading door so very handy.with a tank fitted across the bulkhead the side door will be virtually useless as tank will be in the way surely?
