Im looking at a new van and keep seeing these  vaux vivro s at decent prices.although i dont use it i carry a 1000 ltr tank.people ive spoke to say the vans are pants !! Anybody on here use or got any feedback .cheers.

One of our vans is a Vauxhall Vivaro with a Grippatank 850 lt system in it. Had it a year, no problems.

Im looking into buying new vans and have carried out a little research,

If buying new Nissan NV300 comes with 5 years warranty, Its the same van as the Trafic / Vivaro & Talento

pre registered 66 plate trafics with 100 miles on the clock come with remainder of 4 years warranty, some good deals at 'renault retail'

the Renault Trafics etc have great review on honest johns website, the only issue they seem to suffer with is injectors, Renault will replace even if out of warranty

Vitos are supposed to be pretty good, the 1.6 model is powered by the Renault trafic and front wheel drive,

The only down side to vito's is the loading area is the same level as the cockpit, If you have a water spill the water will flow though under the cab mat, you could make something up to hold back the water but it will never be as good as a spilt level floor, otherwise very good vans

New dispatch has the same level floor, No owners reviews as yet

vivaro suffer gear box and injectors also timing chain issues if ur unlucky fuel pump as well but all this is after 90k i think but injectors go because water drips on them from the scutle pannel wich causes them to go and get stuck in the head u can seal the scutle pannel tho to stop this my gear box went at 40k just in warnty

I have 2006 vivaro had it 9 years only problem I had was turbo went but everything else was just tyres brakes ect just usual stuff never let me down once appart from the turbo problem starts first time every day

had a 56 plate and no problems when i swapped at it in for a new 8 month old vivario from the dealer

very happy with the van and it moves and drive well,i have a lwb sportive model

Where to start with my ex 'AA' Vivaro 2.0 CDti 2008

Purchased March 2014

New gearbox in 2011 with AA
New engine Sept 2014 (cam chain snapped at 15mph, lunched the engine)
2 Wheel bearings plus hub
New alternator
New starter motor
Window winder motor assembly (sealed unit £200 roughly)

Plus the usual consumables - tyres, brakes and bulbs.

You could be lucky and get a good 'un but by christ they can be expensive

About 85000 and it's was 3 years ago cost me £700  but that was with an expensive garage. I now use another mechanic that would have got a lot cheaper

  my van 2010 and the gear box went with only 40k so not shore what you mean after 06 models are all ok! try looking on fb vivaro page

i think its the cog that is the issue as the teeth chip off 1 buy 1 and then when there are only a few left bang the chain comes flying off and all hell brakes lose

avoid them if your buying second hand mate.save yourself some grief and expense.they are one of the worst unreliable vans you can buy.

had more problems with most of my cars than this van can't fault it will definitely buy another one

There will be horror stories around for all brands but what generally causes a lot of problems later in its life is how it's been looked after. If you thrash your van it won't last long, but  don't blame the manufacturer.  Make sure you regularly service it when required and keep checking fluid levels every couple of months.  This will help prevent most  problems from happening.

the main issue with the vivaro is water geting in the engine area sort that and u will stop a lot of issues
