Hi folks just wondering what to advertise as on Google for best results  stone floor cleaning  tile and grout cleaning etc  what are you guys finding works best  cheers Del

You have to be very careful choosing keywords as Google can quickly get people to your website.....but not the right people.

I wouldn't personally suggest "Hard floor cleaning in Birmingham" this is purely because a customer would rarely call their floor a hardfloor, they would normally be searching for something like Oak floor cleaning in "Birmingham" for example.

You need to be quite specific, you want quality clicks not quantity of clicks.

Think of your past 10 customers, how would they have found you searching for you based on the work you carried out.

No problem, certainly look into match types also, you have to put a lot of time and effort into Google Adwords for it to be frutiful otherwise it becomes verty expensive mistakes.

I personally would find it helpful knowing the best forms of advertising for hard floors too!

I have asked on here before but I've found this forum to be less forthcoming than the carpet cleaning forum  ;)

I am not quite sure what you mean with the above statement!  You have asked for advice on Hard Floors on about 4 occasions in the last 15 months and on each occasion I have replied to you!  So I am a bit unsure what you mean?  Anyway below is my take on Hardfloor advertising for what it's worth:

The best way to advertise Hard Floor Cleaning & Polishing IMHO is to concentrate solely on it.  We find that if someone wants their Hard Floor Professionally Cleaned or polished then they tend to  look for someone who specialises in it.  A CC'er or a WC for example who advertises their primary business and then says they do Hard Floors as well puts a lot of people off in my opinion.  There have been numerous CC'ers that I have trained  that have struggled initially to get hard floors as well but then opened a new website specialising in it and are now inundated with work.  Then there are other CC'ers who just add it to their services and offer it the same time they are quoting for the customers carpet.  On a more personal note whenever I want a tradesman in my home or business I look specifically for that trade!  I for example would never employ a Builder who says I can Tile as well or a Carpenter who says I can fit bathrooms.

Everyone who I know that takes this route does better and it is a good point. I once had a lady tell me "But youre a carpet Cleaner"  mind you she didn't want to pay anything either.
Other than that Google and Networking groups seem to work better than leaflets in my experiance.

For ourselves, I have always found that the commercial sector brings in the big money when it comes to stone floor restoration/cleaning. All types of advertising is fine - but at the end of the day I identify my prospective clients and then go in there in person to sell not only what I can do but also myself.
It saves me a fortune in my marketing budget.
