« on: November 28, 2015, 04:27:10 pm »
has anyone installed reverse cameras in there van,    is it easy peasy,
looked on ebay and very cheap, around £25-£38

these look like you just plug into charger socket,

professional ones connected up to reverse gear

plenty

They will sell you a top quality product for around £150 £200.00 + VAT and then labour to install it.

With Ebay sales ones you need to understand the difference between the cameras;

Then do the same with the monitors

Yeah I installed mine.

The biggest problem is making sure the image is the correct way round. A lot of companies will sell the camera and screen but they won't match up. Best to buy a kit.

What I did was to buy a monitor which could have image flip and reverse. And then you can buy just any camera.

Buy a DECENT camera with the Led night light sensor thingies.

My setup cost about £70 and is perrrrrrfrct

Got a system fitted on the jumbo transit - made by sonar it's a great bit of kit and also have standard reversing sensors

I have too, but I only fitted the outer ones. I was afraid that the inner ones would see the towball.

I would also like to fit a reverse camera, but as with a few things, the van will probably fall to bits before I get round to it.  ;D

Mine just came with the van,
I would advise anyone who hasn't got them an like me has to park a lot in tight spaces to defo invest in them,
When the beeping become a solid tone, you have 8"

Wouldn't be without

So I'd go flaccid, you mean?
I don't like the sound of that.

Not sure what you mean, but when you reversing about 3ft away from something it starts to beep the closer you get the quicker it beeps when you get 8" from whatever is behind you the beeping is going faster and faster until it becomes a solid tone noise rather than the beep to tell you that's just about enough.

Got a direct swap unit from china.
Revering camera, Tv, satnav, internet (needs toggle) dvd, cd. Bluetooth.
I would be lost without it. Wife goes in ASDA, I watch tv. It rains bad for half hour...TV :)

I've got two devices on my van I use when reversing.
First one is called "near side wing mirror" and the second one is "off side wing mirror".  :P

I have fitted one in mine a couple of years back. The camera came in a kit from a local Auto jumble and the screen from Ebay.
It works well so long as you look at it when reversing.  Unlike me recently when an interface between Telegraph pole and back bumper sent everything flying. :-[
