We have logo written Trespass jackets and soft shells. About £40 each. I have just spent a bit more on a pair of boots but still only £60. I just don't understand spending that much on good quality gear that will get ruined. Especially as we'll sit in the van if the rain really belts down..

Especially as we'll sit in the van if the rain really belts down..the cheapo jackets dont keep you dry their rubbish.tried loads of them years ago.you sweat like a pig in them and are wet through after a few showers leaving you feeling dejected resulting in you heading off home early when your more likely to crack on with decent waterproofs thus earning more money.they last twice as long as the cheap jackets plus they keep you dry and comfortable.
I agree with Daz in that the cheaper end Jackets are not fully waterproof and if you are out in the rain for more than a few minutes will get wet through to the inside layer.I not only look for a Jacket that is waterproof but also windproof as this makes a difference in comfort. The more expensive Jackets usually offer protection from rain and wind without being over bulky.
Never had an issue with my Apache work coat built for work , Were as walking jackets are made for just that they just dont have the durability same as hiking boots they wont take the abuse .
