I now use rectus fittings in the same way exceed do.I won't change your mind and that's ok, but it is an improvement and a lot more durable if that's the way you wish to work.All that exceed and wcw have done is refine the principle, I don't think its silly.
i have built my diy hoseless pole set up since christmas and have my inline tap fitted at the top, i tried the gardiner all season yellow and was too soft and stretchy then fitted a length of gardiner orange and its been spot on!
