1 or 2%, maybe that's because most are younger Army wives over here. Used to be more when I first started at the end of the 80's. I think as you get on with the game, you get a nose for the drop offs.

No still don't understand, I must be thick

Pretty low if they don't sign up to CG before first clean they don't get cleaned , signing up to CG shows commitment and not had a drop out yet .

Lots of messers these days , I always charge for intial cleans these days, I would say 30% drop out in first 18 months, less likely with 8 weekers.
This is why I like 8 weekers because I charge more for them and they are less likely to opt out.

lol when I said in a recent post that I was loosing around 10 % of my custys a year ( including: new custys, those moving out and those changing their minds) I was told that was an awful lot as their average was 2 or 3% a year

That is an awful lot IMO.  When I said a third gone within a year (including those I drop), I only meant a third of *new* customers :) .  Having said that, I have had the odd year where 10% have gone but it is the exception as most of my round has been fairly stable for some years now.

and i stand by my comment ;) haha. established work i loose hardly any, a customer once in a blue moon because of movimg house/dying. i can honestly say iv had one cancel in the last 3 years from bad cleaning, dog poop everywhere and i splashed n dashed and was glad to get rid. i canvassed £600 last september and i lost one this november cus she couldnt afford it lol

well , of course it's quite different if you're well established and have a good and solid round!! I've been in this game for 18 months only .I loose very few custys  ( the one's I've had for over 1 year!).

yeah true i didnt realise u had been going 18months to be honest. as long as u get more than you loose you will end up with a good customer base. u always get the people who see you as the window cleaner, and the people who see you as the nice (young) chap who comes around and is friendly and considerste and does a brilliant job, if you loose customers that dont perticularly value you that much what you are left with is gonna be decent

I reckon the ones that are cheap get fewer dropouts and more Christmas tips.

I consider myself to be very conscientious.bottom trad , top wfp .no splash and dash! But when asked to do the inside I then sometimes notice little white spots here and there . nothing really bad and I suppose most people wouldn't notice it. but the thing is : it's not perfect!! even if you've been using wfp for 15 years  you can never be obsolutely sure it's totally perfect!whereas doing trad conscientiously you can't really go  wrong! since you get to wipe dry the windows. I' m still a newbie but that's the way I see things.

I work in london. I charge : front: £10 every 4 weeks or £12 every 8 weeks. front  and back: £15 to £20 .but I focus mainly on doing front only as it's less hassle and quicker! I have to say I've never thought much about it but maybe I loose some customers because of my pricing! ???

depends where you are too i suppose to a degree, if you got a lot of competition u could loose a few more, majority of my work is in the countryside and villages and often im the only cleaner in the area so i have nobody pinching my work lol
