can you explain how tech screws work,     do you screww them into van flooring also,  or do you just screw them into the wood as a normal screw

Yeah they are self tapping, so just use drill and wind them in, can be done by hand screwing but would be hard work! Use a drill with screw drill bit and simply screw them in, the idea of tech screws is there is no need to ale a hole to start with, they just drill straight in. sometimes there called self drilling screws, screwfix sell them by the shed load, different sizes etc

That's looks very nice, but your floor space is minimal, you could achieve that nice look by turning them hose reels upside down and bolt through roof, that way no need for frames

On a brand new van nahhhh lol. Would love to tho.
Not sure about you guys with a small one  ;D but I have a large one  ;D (transit) and roof frame is solid and loads of holes to put a fixing in. Could put a massive board in and fix all to it.
I wont fix anything to my roof other than pole extension on bungie straps. Used to cut my head open on my old van on light. Have high roof now

I totally understand regarding brand new van, not wanting to put holes in roof, thing with me is I have van 12 months from brand new but I will run this van til it dies I won't be looking to sell on so am happy to do this.
4 x bolts
4 x metal washers
4 x rubber washers

It don't leak, so it's all day.

I have emptied my van to paint floor so will post pic of how I done it tomorrow before new system goes in.

Johnny bravo.

I bought 2 brick hangers from b&q, cut the small bend piece off, also bought 4 brass copper pipe holder 15mm I think, these fit round the metal reel were it would be on the floor. Then screwed them to the brick hanger which is then bolted through the roof

I did this coz I wanted a pressure washer in the van an would need floor space but just haven't got round to it yet

Bungle, yes mate I put mine quite far back into trafic van so I do have to get into the back to wind in or lean in side door, having learnt this I would have put them nearer only about a foot to the back doors.

However it is what it is, so now I can eventually get pressure washers and 350 tank next to each other when .............. Year 2020 probably I get it sorted

matty,  you mean you have drilled holes through your van roof,

i would have expected to have hooks fixed on the inner van beams, without putting holes into roof ???
id still like to see, as i clean driveways,   if you cant put pics up email me a couple,       im going to have a look in van tomorrow.   see what it would entail

My reels would be way to heavy for the roof. Would love to see some pics of yours mounted to roof please.

Yes Johnny bravo, no messing about mate, drill came out and there we have it. With regards to putting weight on the roof it's has 4 small dips where the bolts are tightened but this is to be expected.
My van is part of the team it's the work horse as far as am concerned so small mods on the van are what it takes. When I have finished with it..............it will be finished.
